Fed up of Tefal. What is a good frying pan please?

I bought two about a year ago also, admittedly they weren't that expensive about £30 the pair IIRC) they were bloody brilliant for about a month,
they then started to become more sticky than a super glue factory, into the bin, back to Tefal :)
(Oh and no dish washer here, only me :D )
I got one in lidls used twice then in the bin.

Another vote for cast iron here - season it properly and they are superb and last for ever.

Also distorts the base which means they spin on the hob rather than sit flat

Common problem with pans ................. largely down to the base being too thin.
Pans I have had (including my present deBuyer) have/are uncomfortably heavy to lift with one hand. Heavy thick base gives the best heat distribution and resistance to warping.

Base thickness/warp-resistance/weight will always be a trade off, but overheating a pan will warp it quite readily. Our induction hob can make metal glow :jawdrop: which is strongly NOT recommended (and spoils whatever gets that hot).
