Hi all,

Isnt it great to see what peoples favourite photography subjects are?

Ive just been trawling through some of the forums on here.

Personally, Im always drawn to the portraits and weddings sections. But others are totally focussed (excuse the pun) on other topics. Macro for example.....some people are really hooked on shooting the tiny aspects of our world.

Then there are the plane toggers who sit atop of mountains waiting for a low pass of an f15

Sports, landscapes, candids etc etc, everyones got a favourite subject

Im not sure what draws me to be interested in just portraiture, I just 'like' it I suppose. The expressions of people and the dramitic effect certain poses have just do it for me.

Ive tried shooting jets, f1 cars, landscapes and even water droplets but none of them are as satisfying as a good wedding photo or posed portrait

What inspires you to take specific photos?

Honestly, nothing 'specific', but rather anything that you see in your eye as a Beautiful shot. I mean, it could even mean a tragic or ugly situation. But something that as soon as you see it, INSTANTLY tells you that you need a photo of it. For instance, I was walking downtown, and a homeless man, holding a cup, smiling, was just looking at me. I had to get a shot of him. He was showing me that he had nothing, no money, no personal objects in his life, and nothing at all. But yet, he was happy. He showed me he was making the best of life, and that having nothing, you can still have everything. And that having everything doesn't mean you have anything at all. So, my answer, is something that really speaks to you, and makes a photo more than just a photo.

For me it changes every couple of months. The last few months it has been macro. I am now looking at ND filters to try out landscape and architecture. Interestingly enough I never found portraits interesting at all.

For me it's pretty well any kind of people photography but I also love doing the detail shots at a wedding, both marco and still life type work.

Any type of urban decay is also a favorite but if I can put a person in the shot even better.

i like most things but the ones that stick out for me would be portraits, esp natural shots when people don't expect it or they are very shy and don't want you photographing them so they hide when you come near them. It's a nice challenge

pretty much anything that takes my fancy (even if im pants at it, i`ll give it a go), but mostly i think candid street stuff
