Which & why ?

This week its, Frankie & Benny's.

I like the food
I like the service (if its not too busy)
I like the ambiance (when there aren't a 100 kids screaming up the isles)
The photos are great, Marciano, Ray Robinson, Joe Louis, Frank Sinatra top of the bill at the Copa Cabanna:lol:
Ella Fitzgerald, Nat Cole, Patsy Cline and Matt monro playing throughout.
I'm gonna kick the hell out of a New England breakfast in about half an hour.
One of the only imported diners I wouldn't like to see sent back..

Restaurant Chains are rubbish in my opinion.

Good home cooked food in a proper 'owned' english pub for me thanks !!

Much nicer food and prolly a lot cheaper !!

Jimmy Cheungs

Self service, all you can eat :)

Urrrggggh, restaurant chains, no thanks - although living in Cumbria we have some amazing places to eat local, pubs, delis etc, although I have to say I prefer to do it myself with produce sourced from the local farm shops and butchers, very often cheaper than the supermarkets aswell

Theres a good shout for Toby Carverys right there:thumbs:
actually, most pubs I "try" in passing....are really crap, most of can't spell home cooking, nevermind do it.
I dont do many of the fast food burger type joints, but some b****r does, or they'd all go bust.
Gonna give Chickchitas a shot next time, (or whatever they're called)

I'll recommend Frankie and Benny's. We found the first on the outskirts of Bristol several years ago. We always pop in at least once when we have our short breaks. We shall be at the one in Southampton next weekend when we visit the New Forest.

It's a bit more fast food, but Barburittos is really nice...had some of their tacos yesterday and they win over Taco Bell ;)

Pizza Express - always seem to have good staff, good food, flexible menu.

Everything else I can think of aren't chains. Brewers Fayre use to be a good backup if stuck somewhere and needed food, but they seem a bit hit and miss now - that honour now goes to Burger King.

ASK is really nice!! A bit like pizza express but I think their pizza's etc are nicer :) although they recently did a revamp of the menu and got rid of my favourite pizza there!! :bang:

I agree with Jimmy! Pixxa Express for me too! The only pizzas that are better than mine! :p

Seem to go to Buddies in Northampton a lot, (Joe  burgers!) they are a local chain i think, very good food, excellent service and reasonable price too. We are consdered part of the family there! :D

Ooh and also Gourmet Burger Kitchen does the best burgers!! YUMMM :D

chiquitos, for the lazy boy quesidilla!

another decent chain is la tasca, for something a bit different

frankie and benny's is alright too, though service can be sooo slow when busy

dominos is good for take out
