Stuart Clarke is who I look to in terms of inspiration. I think his shots are fantastic, not always technically brilliant, but being a big football fan the way he captures the moment brings back lots of nostalgia for me.

Although I am a fan of many photographers, Stuarts photos seem to always stick in the memory bank and leave me wanting more.

Here is a link to his site... http://wwwSPAMoffootball.co.uk/

His style and genre won't be to everyone's taste, but isn't that the brilliance of being individual.

Rut Blees Luxemburg (think thats spelt right) wonderful photography, street based primarily, lives in London now I believe and often exhibits in galleries around London.

Has a few books out and provided the artwork for The Streets first album and Bloc Party's 'A Weekend In The City'

:) not got a direct link to any sort of site but details on her from The Guardian are here:

O Winston Link the greatest railway photographer of all time

Mine is Eric Treacy, although the likes of Les Nixon, Bill Watson and Link are up there as well.

you have to forgive me here. I truly cannot decide (its a little known fact that I am the worlds most indecisive individual) between the following togs:

Aleksander Rodchenko, Karl Blossfeldt, Man Ray, Robert Capa & Gerda Taro, W. Eugene Smith, Lee Friedlander, David Seymour, Jerzy Tomaszewski, Sylwester Braun, Eugeniusz Lokajski, John Davies, Martin Parr, Annie Leivovitz, and -finally- James Bartholomew.

:runaway::runaway:Aagh!

thats a big list! Im sorry, ever ever so sorry! I'm just damn to indicisive, I think....:D

But seriously, I can't choose between them!

James Nachtwey

Really powerful stuff, he always strikes a good balance between artistry and documentation.

Steve.

:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs: totally totally agree!

I have one of those big coffe table books of his work signed by him, AND! a big poster of that photo on my wall:D:D:D

he is the only other landscape photographer who I truly love (other obviously being ansel adams) -otherwise landscape just doesn't do it for me.

he is a master of the zone/greyscale system...

The late Bob Carlos Clarke.
and Eamonn McCabe.

Landscapes: David Noton

Corporate shoots - CEO's and stuff: David Tejada.

Corporate shoots: John Keatley

Weddings: Ed Pingol.

Doing something cool with the friggin a-list of clients: Ben Baker.

Weddings, portraits, editorials etc: Kenneth Volpe.

Honorable mention, for the sheer effort of dragging a LARGE FORMAT camera into a friggin desert and waiting 3 weeks for the light to be *just* right: Michael Fatali.

I deliberately try and avoid books/websites about professional photographers, as I don't want to be overly influenced by anyone else. That said, I can't help but be aware of what goes on here on TP :naughty:.

So, my one and only photographic hero is ... our very own, Luke Woodford. :1st:

Why? Well, he shoots the stuff that I would like to shoot (but don't have the balls to), he's very modest and down to earth when talking about his abilities and I also love his PP technique. It's that simple :)!

just looked her up. Quite like her stuff.

You may want to look at Kayt Jones.

My favorite are:-
Chris Rout - lifestyle photographer that uses a 50mm for a lot of his work.
Andy Lesauvage - probably one of the best glamour photographers in this country
Joe Cornish - Landscapes, what more can one say

I look at each of these for different reasons

Edgar Froese's (the founder of Tangerine Dream) wife, Monica Froese inspired me in terms of photography through the many album covers she did for Tangerine Dream in the 60's, 70's and 80s. :)
Sadly she passed away some time ago.

Richard Avedon - must be on anybodys list

Albert Watson

Two of my favourites - I could add more....

Not really hot on photographers, really should fix that!

But currently I am fond of:
Joe McNally: the shot from the top of the empire state is awesome. Also very interesting blog.
Richard Peters: Just discovered this guy, localish wild life specialist. Some awesome shots and also very active blog and twitter. Really inspired me as a lot of his shots are shot locally to me so I want to get out and get on with it when I can.

Lee Friedlander and Annie Leibovitz are two of my absolute favourites. I guess Annie is a bit of a cliché, but I after seeing a exhibition of her work I was very impressed and also touched by her work.
