Favourite non-alcoholic drinks?

No real favourite but I like a mixture of tonic water and sparkling water, both well chilled, about 20% tonic and 80% water.

Dave

Bit outside the 'spirit' of this thread, but for Xmas, Yv bought me various samplers of new Gins from micro-distilleries - and I had to water down the Schweppes to avoid overwhelming the Gins!

One think I haven't the pallet for bitterness. Cant drink coffice, tonic water, bitter lemon, grapefruit etc...

Probably no point in mentioning a pukka Citron Pressé then? With enough freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar in every glass to take all the enamel off your teeth! :D

Water...... it's in all the above:lol:

Coke Zero, and you teeth were "LITERALLY" crumbling away? Sorry but no, I don't think so.

Well my dentist agrees with me. I don't have bad dental hygiene, but I had fillings on my front teeth that in the space of 18months have disappeared completely and I lost a whole chip in one tooth. The dentist reckoned it was the acidity in the drink. But I'm happier now not touching fizzy canned drinks and my teeth feel better. Maybe theres no link, but I'm happier.

Water filtered through natural volcanic minerals for 3 million years.

Use by July 2013

I don't know for sure either. But I do know you aren't supposed to reuse a plastic bottle too many times so just figured it might be related

hmmmm ... when I was in the halls at Uni and the toilets were the other end of the corridor .... :suspect: I didn't think it was a problem then

I've not noticed that between the Chicken n Mushroom and the Minced Beef, but might mention it to the local chippy ;)

The sugar is not the problem in diet fizzy drinks, it is the carbon dioxide (fizz!) that erodes teeth really badly!

Apple and Mango J2O for me please.

Heather

Macdonalds strawberry milkshake. Or innocent mango and passion fruit smoothie.

Well maybe not for teeth but the artificial sweeteners are worse for you than actual sugar

No i'm fine with sour i like it, with a mild addiction to fizzy sweets. Bitterness is my problem. The bitter lemon i was refering to is the stuff they Schweppes sell in the pubs.

Orange juice with bits and lemonade. Delicious. World apart from orangeade.

Or with sparkling water (60% orange 40% water), really cold. Otherwise a nice pot of darjeeling tea first thing on a Sunday morning.

Can't beat a good tea.

EDIT: Didn't see the tea/coffee exclusion! That's tea-ism!

Agreed.

No teaism here. Tea is the best drink ever. Forget coffee though!

Steve.

Irn Bru Sugar Free. I prefer the sugary one but Type II DM makes that a no-no!
Any of the No Added Sugar Robinson's squashes.
Tassimo Costa latte.
Fresh fruit juices.

Surprises me that an earlier product mentioned was called "Alkolfrei! (sp?) but contained 0.4%ABV! Surely pear cider is perry?

I think its down to interpretation. For me it has to be absolutely minimal/negligible amounts, like 0.01, but some drinks are marketed towards people who are driving or abstaining from alcohol for other reasons, so the 0.4% may not a problem.

if i go down the soft drink route it has to be water for me... but i do like a can of coke now and again. Don't touch any sugar free drinks, it's the aspartame... bad news.

Mostly tea and water, some coffee and fruit juice (more when I'm in SA). I loathe fizzy drinks, and don't enjoy alcohol very much either.

cream soda mixed with pineapple juice, very refreshing on a hot summer's day (whatever that is).

Even 0.01 isn't alcohol free, it's just extremely low alcohol! 0.4% is still low alcohol but by no means alcohol free.

As for the sugar free choice, it's not really a choice for me - Type II DM.

why is it that a nice pleasant topic requiring a simple response has to be ruined on this forum?

nilagin, you're a freak .... well, actually I know you're not, cos I've overheard all this pretentious **** before in changing rooms ... but it's not what what the question was about really

Not heard that before. I don't drink anything else.

Diet Irn Bru or the occasional Dandelion & Burdock:)

I think I need help...

I've gotten through a 24 pack of Mighty Malt since last Monday and over the weekend I bumped up my subscription so now I have had my next batch delivered 3 weeks early which arrived today! :D

Recent blood tests have shown that it is probably previous excesses (way too much sugary crap being shovelled in!) that caused high blood sugar levels rather than me being Diabetic, so I'll carry on with my new found moderation and drinking sugar free pop and other reduced sugar/no added sugar soft drinks. I do drink alcohol but rarely in the UK - my tastes are for drinks best served in a far warmer climate (Ouzo and Cretan white wine). The Ouzo gets drunk here but only on warm summer evenings - the wine doesn't travel well (and the ones we like come from the barrel rather than the bottle!)...

Iced Fig Sirop in the summer is my absolute favourite. Ive alway drunk a lot of squash, but since discovering some of the better French sirops, English squash pales into insignificance. All other times espresso or hot ribena

How many posts, and not a single bit of love for A&W root beer? Or their cream soda for that matter.
