How can you have Mika, Metallica and Rammstein in the same sentence?

Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Timbaland, The Police, Stereophonics, Daniel Merriweather, David Guetta, Black Eyed Peas,

If I get stressed & want to chill then its Teardrop explodes - kilimanjaro album.... but then again i'm a "old fogey" :p

That made me lol here, they share the same space on itouch lol did say varied.

Zep, Floyd, Stones, Cash, Dylan, Young, Clapton, Doors, Supertramp, Steely Dan, just started getting into country... early Madonna (yikes!), Depeche Mode, Talk Talk, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Sisters of Mercy ...selected bits of the Grunge Era...the list is pretty endless.

Oh by the way, Armin Van Buuren ain't trance. Today's 'trance' is just a re-labeled branch of house. See Hallucinogen, X-Dream, Juno Reactor et al for real trance ;)

Beach Boys and Crowded House are my current favourites - oh and Brian Wilson too (of Beach Boys fame)

I have an obsession with Every Time I Die.

Radiohead, Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Little Feat, Bowie, Teddy Thompson, Kirsty Macoll, Harvey Andrews, Beach Boys, Red Box, Jellyfish, Split Enz and of course Blazin' Squad and Friday Hill :D

Oh and Led Zep, Genesis, Supertramp, Steely Dan....the list is too damn long!

Magma, Can, Captain Beefhearts Magic Band, Ash-Ra Temple, Gong, Planxty, Deep Dish,
Popol Vuh, Lisa Gerrard, Dead Can Dance, Anna Sjalve Tredje, to name but a few.

My favourites are Pendulum, Calvin Harris, The Editors, Lostprophets (old and new stuff), Idlewild, Kaiserchiefs, Paramore, Air Traffic, Biffy Clyro, Billy Talent, Rise Against, Cherry Ghost, Coldplay, Embrace, Florence + The Machine, The Fray, Foo Fighters, Ghosts, Hadouken!, John Frusciante, Kate Voegele, The Killers, Kooks, Madness, Mark Owen, Mexicolas, Miike Snow, Mumford and Sons, Ocean Colour Scene, Oasis, Razorlight, Snow Patrol, **, Wombats, We are Scientists..

A lot of music, a lot of genres, but I love them all!
:)

My pick  My favorite ever

I'm all the Marina and The Diamonds, Ellie Goulding, Lady Gaga (love her to pieces), The XX, FrankMusik, Jack Johnson, Owl City, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly., Jamie T, HelloGoodbye, Passion Pit, Kids In Glass Houses... And just recently anything Dubstep related :gag: :cuckoo:

Oh gee - what a lot of heavy metal head bangers there seem to be in this thread! LOL.
At least one person besides me listens to Snow Patrol (fav of the moment on my iPod) as well as Dire Straits, The Delays, Santana. Am I too chilled for this thread?

Hell no! I'm down with them :thumbs:

I'm not a fan of heavy metal, in fact I hate it...

*puts on tin hat* :exit:

:woot: :woot: Nothing wrong with music that sound it's best at full volume :D

My mechanic hates it when my car goes in, reckons it blows all the dust off everything , including his eardrums and he say I'll never have a rust problem cos it all vibrates off before it forms :D (think he saying I have the music too loud  )
For me it's Straits, Meatloaf, Bryan Adams,Alice Cooper, Muse, Frankie goes to hollywood and quite a few more

Ah I've recently really got into:

Operation error
Five Finger Death Punch
Alexisonfire

Super dooper. Nothing like a bit of heaviness in ya life. :D

For something a little alternative, check out 'City & Colour'. It is basically Dallas Green (he does the harmonies in Alexisonfire) doing accoustic stuff. Nice simple relaxing songs - my favourite is a song called 'sleeping sickness'.

I've got pretty eclectic tastes but there are some big artists that I just despise (Mika, I'm looking at you :boxer:), and others I just can't understand the appeal of like Zeppelin, Floyd and pretty much anything metal.

Favourites include:

Armin Van Buuren
Bob Marley (can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet)
Burial
Coldplay
Colin Hay
DJ Tiesto
Dub FX
Eminem
Emmy the Great
Fatboy Slim
A Fine Frenzy
The Fray
Gorillaz
Jimmy Eat World
Kanye West
Kris Drever
La Roux
Lily Allen
Ludovico Einaudi (he's all over TV music these days, especially Top Gear)
Moby
Mt Eden
Mumford & Sons
Muse (pre Absolution, everything after 2003 is :gag:)
Noah and the Whale
Oasis (candidate for the No.1 spot)
Pendulum
Plan B (before his latest release which is rubbish)
The Prodigy
Queen
Regina Spektor
Rihanna
Seth Lakeman
Simon & Garfunkel (they're nothing as solo artists)
Stereophonics
The Streets
Thrice
Travis
Tupac Shakur (2Pac)
