fave cover versions...

The Delgados - Mr Blue Sky

Hot 8 brass band doing a cover of Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing". Brilliant cover in a really unique fashion and a real feel good tune for lazing out in the sun :)

Petshop Boys 'Always On My Mind'. Always been a fan, when this was released, I didn't even know Elvis (not a fan!) had done it lol.

Did he shrink? I remember seeing part of a Tina Turner Concert on TV before 94 and he was alot bigger. Looks like he's shrunk back down to how he was in Lost Boys.

He'll do for me which ever way :D

9/10 for effort...

3/10 for sound.... lower it an octave or two...

I suppose technically it is a cover version, but probably the worst ever......

I like both the chalk and the cheese, but the chalk is gorgeous as you say.
Now to find out more about Hellsongs ,had never heard of them before, but I am stuck in the 70's.

Blondie, the tide is high.
Gary Numan, on broadway.
Orbital, dr who theme

B****** ain't S*** by Ben Folds. Very nice! ;)

Great shout. Started singing this version the other day for no reason.

I also love...

Rage Against The Machine - The Ghost of Tom Joad

Machine Head - Message in a Bottle

Metallica - So Fcuking What

Pearl Jam - Last Kiss

Nirvana - Man Who Sold the World

Jason Mraz - Summer Breeze

(hed) PE - Get Ready

Agree with Man who Sold the World..Metallica ruining Whiskey in the Jar, was a low point for music.

Had a serious falling out with my brother over that one years ago....he liked it, I didn't. However since he has bad taste in music it means I win.

Mayor Hawthorne - Mr Blue Sky. I know we had a Mr Blue Sky already, but really love this cover, its a song that just lends to a happy, bouncy dance. Which is why I'm no longer allowed to put this on the jukebox at the local :rules:

My friends tell me that liking this makes my opinion invalid.....and maybe so. But I will never EVER agree with having chips cheese and curry after a night out.

Surely Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah must feature in the mix somewhere? Far superior than Leonard Cohens version in my opinion???

I was looking for another cover of Gemma's, when I found this.

I'm not feeling that Hawthorne Mr Blue Sky
Metallica's Whiskey is truly awful!

A Slayer cover by Tori Amos? That explains a friends interest in doing acoustic covers of theirs recently

Anyway, led me to look for this after realising how poor their In A Gada Da Vida is.
Loved this as a kid!

How about Radiohead doing, Nobody does it better, and Lulu singing The man who sold the world.Just thought of another one, Dar Williams singing Pink Floyds Comfortably numb.

I'd agree on Buckley's version being the best

However...check this one out
