I’m experiencing something odd with some of my (scanned) TIFFs.
To date, I have scanned hundreds of images from both slides and prints.
Every now and then, when perusing the image folders, I’ll notice that the odd TIFF has a defect. It wasn’t there when the scan was done but has appeared in the meantime.
In most cases the image will have a huge black block at the bottom, so effectively anything up to half the image is missing and replaced by black. In other cases horizontal black lines appear in the image.
I do keep 3 copies of everything and in most (but not all) cases, I can overwrite the faulty TIFF with a good one, but I do find myself periodically checking my folders to see if anymore TIFFs have gone ‘wrong’
Have any of you experienced this strange phenomenon?
