Faulty ethernet cable.....

Just how can ethernet cable that was working perfectly at midnight last night and has not been moved, not be working at 5.30pm tonight??????

However, discovered that the new desktop is wifi friendly, so shouldn't be needing one any time soon.

Was odd - we have a router which is used for desktop, laptop, netbook, 2 phones, 1 playstation, 1 wii....

Phones were working today but not one computer (to get online) How does that happen? Pulled out the yellow wire and bing bang bosh.. all working... I can understand the desktop not, but surely the lappy and netbook would still get a wifi signal, if the phones do...

Would love someone to explain in words of less than 3 sillybulls! (sic)

I blame the cat.

(Let's just say there was both a problem with

a) the VOIP connection
b) a language barrier, here I had to explain several times that

c) the phone works
d) the router works
e) the mobiles connected to the wireless router work
f) the desktop , laptop and netbook didnt work


but to be fair, I took the cable out of the back of the desktop, and it all lit up like an xmas tree, so maybe it could somehow just go "Wibble"
