Hello can any one help?
A few weeks ago i put 4 gig of RAW file on to a DVD, i checked that all the images burned onto the DVD ok. They had, and the DVD worked fine. But now a few weeks on i cant get my pc or any other pc to read the DVD. The DVD just freezes up any pc that tries to read the pictures, i cant copy the DVD, in the hope that the copy might be ok, it just gives a read error when i try to burn a copy off. Do any of you out there no a way to get a faulty DVD working, there are no marks or scratches on the DVD it looks perfect. :bang:
 
have you tried it back in the same drive you burnt it with?
 
how did you copy the files onto the DVD ? was it just a drag and drop operation or did you have to create and burn the files ? which software etc ? have had huge issues with ondvd way (drag and drop)
 
Tried the drive i burnt it in with no look. No drive will read it, the pictures start to load and the freeze up after around 10 load up. The software i used was Nero, and i think i located the folder on my pc and then clicked burn. I have done it the same way 100 of times with no problem.
 
what if you try viewing as a list rather than making it show thumbnails, it might help
 
I know it may sound like a stupid question but the DVD isn't scratched or anything near the edge is it? I've had a few DVD's mess up on me due to hairline scratches when CD's have always been fine :shrug:
There are also those clear film covers that you can place over the surface that fixes scratches & imperfections.
 
Or try a file recovery program, something like PCInspector Smart Recovery.
 
Tried viewing as a list but it is just the same. The disks are spottless not a mark on them. They are Mr DVD disks that have gone faulty, think i will stick to brand name DVDs from now on. Thanks for the link evilowl i will give ISOBUSTER a go.
 
yeah isobuster is very good, other than that you prob not got a lot of chance getting it back sadly
