I bought my dad shares in Hallmark, seems the only sensible thing to do on days like this :p Or am I just too cynical?

the top gear "my dad had one of those" car books for my dad... and its true, he has had a few of them!!

in other news, its also mine and my girlfriends anniversary... and i got a CP Filter!! lol

I bought myself a canon 70-200mm L lens!! :thumbs::woot:

Still waiting patiently for my kids to cough up!!

is it the new f/2.8 mkII??

I was woken up by a big 'pile on' - lovely cup of tea and toast in bed.

Nothing and nothing.

Dad passed away earlier this year and I have (and want) no brats!

NOWT here as well, My Dad passed away 18 years ago God rest his soul.

And the little scrote I brought up as my Son from 15 months to 18 years old never gave me owt and took plenty. Not heard of him in 7 years and not bothered.

Glad some kids still give a little something to their Dads, they do need to know they are loved at least once a year :D

For my Dad we gave him a mug and a cushion with a spitfire on (he's a plane addict!)

For father in law (we're going down in a little bit) we've got him a thorntons chocolate football boot and a t-shirt (jokey t shirt with a design we made ironed on - honestly it took us 4 goes to get it right!...should probably take a pic...)

Bottle of wine out, beer and chocolate recieved.

The book of the 'Halcyon River Diaries' series and a gigantic Toblerone

Perfect reading material

Just back from my dads, it's usualy an understated affair as he has everythin he wants or needs and more lol...

Gave him a fancy vacum flask so he can have his cups of hot tea while he's on his sailing trips at stupid o'clock in the morning, something he absolutely adores doing...

The wife and I got my dad a gift bag full of Lynx body products.
I know it sounds measly but the old boy suffers from Alzheimers and his interest any hing is non existent now.
To be honest I think he was more grateful for us spending some quality time with him today.
But he did comment on how he likes lynx stuff! :)

Gave nothing, my dad died 13 years ago.
No breakfast in bed, was up at 6 for work, (Although they could have gotten up early to at least make me a cup of tea!)
Met them after work at the school fair....not one of em said Happy Fathers Day....sods.
I came home on my own, was a bit tired, and there were two home made cards on the table. I always ask the kids to make me cards instead of buying them, much more personal IMO.

I always tell them not to bother with presents, there's nothing I really want so it will just be buying for the sake of buying.

Got a cup of tea off my wife before....although that's normal, wasn't a special one :p

Three pair of socks ,a mug,and some beers

Nice cards Marcel, #1 DAD, cant make out the other ones front,

all my kids are grown up now, so I get bought ones

i never really see the point of dedicated days to parents, it seems to be another one of those days made up by the greetings card/retail industry to jump start sales.

be nice to your parents all year round! lol

I gave me dad a card, some Heroes (got him and me mum a hot air balloon ride from Christmas/mothers, fathers day)

I got a little teddy, an amazon voucher and some smellies.

I got a DVD from my Daughter called Inglorious Basterds, for their birthdays I was thinking about giving my kids a DVD called Inconsiderate Basterds :D

My son got me a razor I think he’s trying to say something.

I got my old man a Card.

My son had made me a card at Nursery, but the ladies gave it to his mum who intern gave it to her boyfriend. My current partner has been out of work for months and money is tight. So I just enjoyed the day with my little monster :) (thankfully it fell on a weekend when we have him this year)

This post, when you aren't highlighting this text, is pretty descriptive of what I gave. I would, if I knew the sod.

We gave Malteaser and cards and got TOblerone, home made cards and a Photography training day.
