And what fathers day would be complete without one of these
toblerone.jpg

I got a brew in bed this morning.

You done alright (apart from the mug ;)) All I got was a couple of cards

Too be fair, I have told the missus not to waste money just put it in the pot for the bigma :)

Daughter & Son in Law dragged me off to the local Wetherspoons for Sunday Dinner then the local pub for a few beers THEN the local Cheesecake shop for desert.

Nice day !!

Over hyped commercial american invention,my girls are delighted I don't give a toss about fathers day
I thought I was alone in my loathing of crap like fathers day, gladly, i`m not.............:)

Daughter 21. Text message " Happy Fathers day love you loads! "

Youngest Son 28. Text message " Happy Fathers day Mofo! "

Oldest Son 29. Still waiting for any response

Just the text message for me as well. Exactly how I like it, grumpy git that I am.

I got some mints that allegedly make your hair grow back and my son presented me with a nice fresh poo at around 9am this morning.

That said I did get a lie-in and a couple of sentimental gifts that were great.

This is my second father's day and I'm all for it, American invention or not, for the lie-in if nothing else!

Got a lay in plus a cuppa in bed, brought to me by my youngest, then a sherbet fountain and a couple of cards made by the kids, which mean far more to me than anything else.

A lie-in. 2 home-made cards. The wife and girls baking, and making steak&Kidney pie in the kitchen. The wife gave up a bottle of beer she had had in the fridge for several weeks as a token present. I don't mind...had a nice day. :)

Well, as grumpy-git old dads you might not think much of father's day, but as a daughter who misses her own dad something shocking even 9 years after he passed, I say shut up and be gracious ya bunch of humbugs.

:annoyed:

I lost my Dad 37 years ago when I was 20 and I still miss him and think of him regularly,I don't need a card selling invented day to make me think of him any more

I don't "need" a day either, thanks.

Home made card and a book from the British Museum on Sutton Hoo. I don't mind the day being there, just as long as silly amounts of money are not spent!

Mind you, I still cooked half of dinner, mowed the grass and did some gardening!

Lost my dad 4 years ago I popped up to see him yesterday and gave him a whiskey as I always do on his birthday fathers day and Christmas. Daft as it sounds he would see the funny side of this and it always makes me smile as I pour it on his grave, mind I do get some strange looks.lol
