Before anyone says, I have done a search and I'm either being really really dumb or there isn't anything relevant on the forum

I am looking for a book that covers how to do catwalk shows. Have searched Amazon but not sure which of them includes catwalk.

Can anyone help. Going slightly insane now :)

Hi Kelack, My son is currently at London College of Fashion so I am at times photographing his fashion shows. I have only little experience but at last years fair at NEC I was talking to a pro who does catwalk work, his advice was to get a place at the end of the runway, use a long zoom lens (longest youv'e got) start as they appear at long setting and from then on zoom out until they get to the front of the runway. All in all just what I would do anyway. As they are then coming towads you then you can use a slightly slower shutter speed if you need to. My experience tells me to keep plenty of empty space around the model (let them walk into it) flash works as fill in but usually so much lighting that you can get away without it if you havn't got one powerful enough. BTW they won't allow a tripod, some may allow a monopod, & they usually dont allow you to mount your flashguns remotely on stands or small tripods, so if you fire tem remotely then get other people to hold them for you. Sorry I know of no books on this but I hope this helps a bit. It's not as easy as it looks so good luck.

Thanks very much for the advice  I shall bear all that in mind. I have arranged to go down early and do a mock run with people walking down the runway while they're doing the lighting rehearsal so I can get a small bit of preparation done.
