OK so friend of a friend has inherited a box.

various plates of pics some in poorish condition but still very interesting here are a few shots of them. There is no indication of date. We have just scanned a few but will endeavour to clean and take some better shots of them. Friends friend not sure what he is going to do with them as yet.

Fantastic, are these just random people or do they have a family connection for your friend?
 
I dont think he is aware of any family relationships or if they are relations no idea who, There seems to be quite a few of clergy and inside a church/Cathedral there is a soldier and young lad alterboy perhaps. Others of what could be Nuns. A few of young children also some other buildings.

Well we are going to clean and then photograph and print them up for him and then he can decide what he wants to do with them. Whether the original is of any monetry value I have no idea But its fun for us playing with them.
 
Local museums would probably be interested in them, They do look fantastic.

Please, PLEASE be very carefull cleaning them. It would be so easy to just wipe away the old emulsion! I would say for anything needing more than a blower-brush, seek professional advice.

Yes the emulsion side is only getting blower brush when necessary,
The glass side seems to require the most attention. We are being very very careful.

Omce done I will put some shots up on here to see if anyone can recognise any of the places, perhaps an idea of dates etc.
 
I have a load of postcards and family photos with similar looking clothing. They're about 1905-1910 or so.
 
Wow, I'd love to find something like this!
