I've just added up the amount of time I spend on TP per day and its completely ****ing ridiculous, especially compared with the amount of time I actually spend taking photographs.

It is literally like an addiction - get up log in, go to work log in, come home log in, spend all evening talking crap , go to bed - rinse and repeat.

Something has to change , so I'm going cold turkey. I won't be on here at all for the merry month of September, then I'll see how I feel and I'll probably come back with a much lower profile from October 1.

so anyway this isn't a good bye post, more like au revoir - I'll see everyone in a months time.

:lol: I'm a few weeks of being another year older :( getting worryingly close to being 30 but thankfully still a couple of years off that

I might be able to save some cake but only if there is sufficient adult beverages compensate me :D

done this quite a few times.... but i ahve never made a post telling people i am doing it... never felt that important..... oh hum ..

Watch out for 'new' members with similar names! 'Little hard elk', or so ...:lol:

I have dropped to just checking in here and there, not getting so heavily involved in discussions, over the past few months. I too need to get out and shoot more, and plan to over the winter [which I strangely prefer to summer]

Me too. I get ignored any hows cos I have infractions for commenting on peeps photies and stuff and I'm weird and I drink too much and ...:gag:

Seriously though, the app on my phone is on all the while , so people think i am logged in and reading stuff, i occasionally sneak on at work, and it's usually on on the home pc..

Amongst other things..

I think i have a couple of camera's somewhere...

Same here, it's open on my phone and iPad, I always have a little browse in any downtime I get.

I've just had someone get all annoyed during the week because I hadn't answered his post within an hour but had "visited the forum" :cuckoo:.

Well I lurk mostly, not experienced enough to post on most (all) matters, the OP gave his valid personal considerations at the moment based on how he felt at the time of posting. Do we not all feel the same way at some time or other? I value his comments very much and look up to him as much as the rest of you experienced togs. You more experienced guys and girls are looked up to as very knowledgeable people and we learn a lot from every comment you make so please dont go away for longer than you need.(PS Life aint great for everyone most of the time, be considerate of others and the world will be a nicer place. (ish) Regards.

LOL!!

Pete, we're all the same, look at it this way;

Some people go to the pub to talk rubbish and general interests down at the pub...we are all just a lot more efficient because our pub is online so we combined it with work, toilet etc and save money too :)

I've often thought of how sad I am... now... I just accept it without questioning ;)
