Edit My Images
Yes
Hi All, first off I want to say what an absolute brilliant site, from total beginner ( moi) to professional there is everything on here ( except instant chat lol) been on here a couple of weeks now and have spent most evenings reading the forums, looking at images. I have learnt so much just by being on here -it's far better than any book you can buy IMO. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to post stuff and give critique. Brilliant.
Ok - now need help lol, I know the answer is on here somewhere.... But I can't find it. I am having trouble getting my images into the gallery space.
When I put my card into my computer lightroom fires up, all my images are on there but because I don't know how to use lightroom yet I don't know what I'm doing. After about 2 hours last night ( I'm not good on a computer ) I managed to create a file with 6 images to post on here, but when I open the file there's only one image and its too big!!! How do I make it smaller? There does not seem to be an option to do it anywhere. I also use an ipad and have put the same images on it but again too big - can not find an option to make it smaller! It's driving me nutzzzzzzzzzzz:banana:

Any help greatly received thanks

I don't use the gallery on here so can't help with that, sorry!

....but if you want to put a photo into a post the easiest way is to use a host such as Flickr or Photobucket which will resize it for you.

Hope this helps, and welcome to TP! :D

you can also resize in paint - which you'll have if your using a Microsoft operating system

I use an little program called Irfanview to resize them, then post on photobucket then link to TP :)

Thanks for your help everyone, I have downloaded photobucket and hopefully I can get something on here for some welcome critique :)

+1 on irfanview.. free batch image resizer.
but if you already have LR then as said above you can just use the export and that will allow you to resize the images as well.
would also agree flickr is better , always find photonbcket does weird compression to images.

google picasa may be worth consideration as it does all you want in one go.. ( organize, edit and share )

Thanks for that Dean - gonna give it another go on Lightroom, then finally give up if it doesn't work:)

you might be right there! I still can not my photo's on here!:mad:

photobucket is really easy when you know how, I assume you know how to upload images from your computer to photobucket, once you have your images in an album simply click on the album to open it then right click on the image you want to post in a thread and a small menu will appear, select "get link" and then click on the "img" code, it actually tells you that this is for forums, once you have done that then you can paste it in to your post simples, just swap between the 2 tabs.

you left click on the "img" code and then the box will turn yellow and tell you that it's been copied, simples ;)

just keep at it and you will get there, most stuff seems hard at first but once you get your head around it, it does get easier and eventually becomes second nature.
