There's a day's shooting happening at the Metropolis Studio, on Saturday the 22nd December 2007.

The two models there will be Bex (Link #2), and Sam.

The following times are available :

1 1/2 hour slot from 11:15 - 12:45, for 2 photographers....£80
17:30-22:00ish - £55 per hour. Maximum 5 photographers for 2 hour slots, or max 2-3 photographers for 1 hour slots.

You get free use of the studio, and the two models. See their portfolios linked above for the style of work they do.
Myself and 4 others have the 1pm-3pm slot booked, and will be there at those times (Really looking forward to it :D).
Fro what I gather, they're both very experienced models, who work well with amateur photographers, and have their own ideas for poses too etc.

You may also notice that its two of the models that Petemc recently did his halloween shoot with the other week. ;)

This is bex who is organizing the day, ive just joined this hehe. The price is a bargin and is between the photographers that come so you split the cost thats why ive made it max 2-3 photographers for 1 hr and 5 for 2 hour slots. you can view more pics of me at

feel free to ask me questions on here or mail me and I will send you pictures of me and the model I will be working with. We are both profesional models,and would love to work with you. The guy from the studio will be around and about if any amatur photographers need and help with lights ect ect. You can also get some great shots outside. there will also be mince pies and beer haha its like a little party and I am leaving 15 minuite gaps between each slot so we can have a natter and a drink with new photographers. This would be something I would be interested in, as I have to do glamour for my photography diploma....[and how many people would expect a woman to turn up? lol - not saying all male photographers are pervs]
but alas, being management and working in retail....22nd of december is a big big big big no-no for me. :'(

Hey Bex - know any models who'd do a similar event but down in South Wales / Bristol area?
 
This is just the kind of thing id like to try, but, unfortunately I cannot commit to that date until the 13th December when I take my driving test... I doubt my mother would be to happy driving me all the way to Liverpool and then back afterwards, unless I gave her a good chuck of shopping money and let her pick out her own Christmas presents.

Portrait, studio and Glamour type shots is something ive never dabbled in. I did look at booking a more local studio and model, but, was shocked to find they offered OTHER seedy services... Which kinda put me off dealing with them. I hadnt a clue what all the abbreviations meant until i googled them...

I agree with mobilevirgin here Bex_h, it is cool that you are now active here on tP; good far ya. Thanks for joining up and participating in these threads.

I have seen many discussion threads in here about people wanting to embark on a model shoot and how they should go about this (and indeed had even started one myself). It seems that there are several members here who might want to do such a shot, but as has been mentioned, can't quite get the bottle to actually do one. I am one of those and know exactly how they feel as I'd love to do some model shots, having what I consider are some great ideas for photographs, but would feel very nervous and, well... errrm... stuck for words/advice/what to ask/how to suggest et al.

Apologies if I haven't articulated my words very well, but I speak for myself and I am also sure I speak for a few other members around here. It is something I'd love to do, but could only do this working with an experienced model who could provide advice and expertise, and would understand that I am totally inexperienced at this type of photography, and could help make us nervous types - feel much more comfortable taking the shots.

Hope that explains where some of us here are...!! Advice...?

If any one of the five in the 1-3 slot would like to group up with another photographer or 2 from that slot and come to the hour and half slot just before that would be cool, just an idea. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
