Edit My Images
Yes
Hi,

Recently took a few pics of the family - please could you advise on the processing, as for composition it's a bonus just getting my children looking in the camera :)

I think the skin tones are fairly accurate as it was after the warm spell and we all had a bit more colour than normal.

Thanks in advance,
Mike.

I'd be happy with them all. You should have seen my efforts recently, terrible... Do you mind telling me your setup?

As above the images look good just the background not sure if ironing is needed just the cloth pulling tight maybe.

Images as composition are OK but you have cropped elbows and fingers in the last two.

White balance is a little warm for me...try using the eydropper wb tool in the whites of your wifes eye to see how you think of that skin tone.

The subjects are all a little too close to the backdrop and yo probably need a separation light..(hairlight etc) to achieve a 'better' look.

PP can fix the colour of the backdrop in 30 secs. And this will also get rid of any kinks and crinkles too.

Nice subjects to shoot!

As Tom says pretty easy to change the background in ps, hope you dont mind but did this to give you an idea on one way (there are many) how you can change the background..the way I did below using the quick selection tool just selected the mum and boy, then inverse, to get background selected then brought up levels and slide the white indicator to the left till you get the right mix..not the best explanation but hopefully you get the idea

I'm really sorry, but being as polite as possible, if I had a retoucher that did that for me, it would end up in the bin. The eyes are completely overdone and the skin looks totally unnatural. She looks like a wax doll.

Guess you're not familiar with the glamour look...

this looks like its been run through portrait pro now and imo it looks overworked and fake , jmo

You haven't done it properly. May I suggest this tutorial. Works pretty good for me.

I admit i overdone it on the eyes but it's just a quick edit. Why is it you say i haven't done it properly? Isn't it "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"? What makes your way right and mine wrong? Someone elses view of what looks good or not isn't for everyone else, it's what looks good to them but i guess if you don't see it as looking good then IT ISN'T GOOD LOL...

You say i didn't do it properly. You call THIS properly? Hmmmm...

THe originals are (top me) better than any of the edits. The background should have been a little tighter as that would have removed the creases.

Sorry Ed but I agree with the comments.

These are not "glamour" shots and even if they were the editing is poor.

You have destroyed all the skin detail from this beautiful woman.

You are right that beauty is in the eye of the beholder though - the only beholder that counts is the client :)

Atleast mine is better than guns edit. If mine was as bad as his i wouldn't be commenting on how bad other people's edits are...

mine isn't glamour glow is it? It was to show the OP example of a desaurated look.

Sorry, but your attempts at glamour glow are very bad. You haven't learnt from any of your attempts, which always tend to look very very bad.

Infact glow is the processig you always to seem to run to when someone posts a pic for processing as shown here:

i actually thought as a sort of cross processed/desaturated edit guns shot looked ok - although I still preferred the original. :)

The background just needs tidying up.

Didn't say yours was glamour glow and didn't say mine was. I said glamour look. Anyways seems i hit a nerve with ya and if ya take a deep look at your edit you'll see that it's desaturated sure enough but not for the best. Sorry...
