False colours?

Have you got any photos which show this? It's going to be hard to give you an answer without seeing the effect you're talking about!

Here we go .... probably one of the best pics I took last year, except for these false colours. (Canon 20D)

I'm not sure how visible the colouration will be on a low res image like this. However, I think you can see what I mean in the lighter/medium areas of the sky, which should in theory be monochromatic. I know they're quite noticeable on my monitor.

I'm just wondering if it could be something to do with the ND grads I use .... but I doubt it .

It's your monitor mate. I don't really see any colour casts.

Eh I am not seeing any "pale green and magenta colouration" in the clouds. Could be your monitor. How about doing a crop of the area with the strange colours so we can see unresized but cropped version. Might help us detect the colours if resizingthe whole picture removes it. But certain makes of ND filters do have a cast.

Well that pic looks like it's still in full colour to me Kerioak.

If I look hard, there's maybe a very slight green tint to the highlights, but I'm on a Macbook and it's only really noticeable at a slight angle, which obviously plays with the colours anyway.

The water looks a touch green in places, but then it's surrounded by tree covered mountains..

Don't see any magenta anywhere. I wouldn't be worrying about it if it were me. But we'll see what some more peeps with decent monitors have to say.

No major colour casts (I've checked in PS) only very slight ones. It does however benefit greatly from a curves and a H&S adjustment layer! If you tick the allow editting box I'll post a version for you.

It's a full colour picture.

I had the feeling that the coloration wouldn't be visible like this. Its not a colour cast, but there are areas of pale green and magenta in the clouds, where none should exist.

And I've seen it on other monitors!

Will crop and repost an area of the sky.:)

Garry, you can have a go at the pic if you like. I've added the tick for image editing.

There's room for adding contrast, I'm sure, but I quite like the idea that its a pretty straight image.

I'm attempting to add a crop of the sky below. Not sure if its what you suggested,TPG.

TPG

I'm just wondering how you can be sure that there is no colour cast present:thinking:

Open the image in an editing app and scan across the RGB values, they're mostly grey but there's a touch of blue in the darker area of the clouds.
