Hey all!
Just spotted this linky on the Argos website. It states a Canon Nifty 1.8 but the picture shows a 2.5 macro. Rang customer services to check and they stated that it is the one in the picture and not description for 109.99! Customer services stated a few times that it is the Macro version for sale! - they do also have the standard nifty for 99.99 separately so it could be a pricing mixup!

Is anyone near an Argos with one in stock that they can check? I have one reserved but have to wait for the GF to finish work and go have a look.

Out of stock for me, going to be interesting to see if it really is the 2.5 macro. Could save about £100 if it is.

Just ordered one for collection on Friday, if its not the macro I won't be buying it

I've just reserved one near me, but can't get it until tomorrow lunchtime due to work :(
 
Wahey! I really hope it is the Macro! I was after one anyways!

it does also say 'New' on the argos website as if it has only just come in....

Currently 1 left at Swindon Brunel, I did reserve it so have the number then relised that Greenbridge had one so reserved it there cos easier to get to for me :) If it turns out to be a bargin and anyone wants the reservation number for swindon brunel PM me, have until close of business tomorrow to pick it up :) Possibly great spot :p :D

I just reserved and went to my local argos this pm. I came back empty handed. Its the nifty fifty as advertised.
 
Just reserved on for collection later in the week, so would be interested to know what those of you getting them today/tomorrow actually get.

They're under no obligation to sell you the lens regardless of whether it's the correct one or not....
 
Sorry folks i reserved mine for collection on 5th instead of pick up :bang: but it says ready for collection on 5th but i doubt ill get it just in case i do ive ordered 2.

The misus is in argos now and has it up on screen, its out of stock but she says the picture doesnt say macro on it :|

Well I suppose that was always on the cards. After all, they have got the macro lens described properly and listed at £279.99.

Even in the in store catalogue it had the Macro pictured and the £109.99 pricetag.

Looks like they have put the wrong picture with product and unfortunately not the price.

It does however say online that the lens comes with bag and hood - so if anyone was after a 1.8 fifty I am sure you could have a case for getting those two with it. I asked to see the one in store and it did not have a hood or bag - just a standard nifty under that item number.
 
Don't think I will bother collecting it now

Nice find, shame it wasn't to be, just checked the listings, they seem to out of stock on the TS-E 17 f4 and its nowhere near 1/2 price!
