Faking It - Fashion Photographer

I loved watching that, especially as I suddenly realised that I have worked with V, the assistant. Was weird seeing someone you know on TV. He works for Saddington & Baynes now.

I don't like the way the photographer is treating David he is a beginner I too am only starting out but when ever I go to shoots with photographers they have ALL been very nice and patient with me (and I have said and asked some stupid stuff in my time) but if i was David I wouldnt much want to become a photographer after being insulted all day and having people laughing at me

It's a TV programme though mate isn't it. Have you ever seen a soap where there is no conflict and everyone just gets along nicely. Would make for some pretty boring viewing ;)

To be fair, the goal is to turn someone into a fashion photographer in a month, someone who pretty much does not understand anything to do with the industry or about cameras. I think he had it pretty easy really, I would kill to have been in his place. And after a month, the results are fantastic, so Stuart Weston and Co. certainly did a good job.

On a final note, remember what you saw was a heavily edited version of events, a months worth of time crammed into one program.

Tough call, not sure I could've done it!

Would have loved to have tried though!

issue with doing it in a month though is the process kinda gets forgotten, the way you work out ideas and have your own ideas. Something I am still working hard on a few years in. The technical side is less involved when you get down to it.

That was a good programme cheers for posting - used to really like that faking series- they should bring it back!!

Agreed, the best one I remember, was when they took this posh nerdy kid, and turned him into a London bouncer. Quite emotional when he had completed the task and left to go home.

Yeah, I used to like them too :)

To be honest Stuart Weston did a very good job. He did tell David at the outset that he was going to have to toughen up. He only had a few short weeks to teach him the ins and outs of running a fashion shoot, commanding the set, working with the models AND being able to take a competent pic at the end of it.

If he had been gentle with him he would still have been running around in his tigger socks and undies looking more like a page boy!

Superb viewing. Great post Carl mate.

What a lucky so and so to get an experience like that.

My favourite was when they took the posh London lawyer (George Lubega) and turned him into a UK Garage MC. Fantastic episode, watched it again last night thanks to this thread

Great series.

Haven't seen any for a while... might have to search some out when I've a moment.

Can somebody record it for me so I can watch in Canada? They won't let me watch it as I am not within the broadcasting region. Pfff :(. Shame I can't wave my passport at it to make it work.

See if this one works via You Tube.

There was a quality one where they turned a Cellist into a house DJ, and also another pearler where they turned a burger van operator into a proper chef!!

Great series!! :D

Really enjoyed this episode, I actually met the cellist after seeing the show whilst waiting for a flight out of John Lennon Airport
