Fake Sennheisers on Ebay

Hi all,

Has anyone been shafted on the Bay with these earphones? Apparently there's quite a few fakes on there and prices range from £7.99 to £35.05 for the ones I want; the CX-500s.

My 2nd gen 16GB Ipod Touch has now been paid for, cost including delivery £164.89 (after the 15% voucher), so sports armband been ordered and paid for, just the earphones to get

Can anyone please recommend an e-tailer on there who sells genuine units

I tend to think the £35.05 are the genuine ones and still represent a huge saving over the likes of HMV etc.

For brand-name stuff, I'd steer clear of eBay altogether - what's the difference between a £35 fake and an £8 fake?

Amazon.co.uk - £37-£48

Anything cheaper, I'd be suspect. For the sake of a few quid, buy from a reputable source - it'll do yours ears better in the long run

Absolutely right about the value and whether they're fakes or not. I guess some are greedier than others

what's the difference between a £35 fake and an £8 fake?

I used to spend a lot of time in Korea and came across many "dodgy" watches. They used to come in two price-bands , genuine fakes & fakes

Apparently the more expensive genuine fakes were direct copies while the fakes were copies of the genuine fakes

I got two pairs of CX300s a few years back.

One was fake, one was real.

The differences were the feel of teh rubber around the joint where the wire and the earbud met, and also the sound qualities of the two were major. Also, the wire lengths were different, although the packaging was exactly the same.

I wou;dn't buy off ebay at all, but iirc, i was in richer sounds today (Liverpool AND Chester) and they have sennheissers in.

Just bought a set and I'm well impressed.

I grabbed these for £65 a while back and they're very good but ever so slightly lacking in bass.

I'm lusting after some Ultimate Ears Super-Fi 5 Pros now.

i'm looking to replace the ipod earphones in the not too distant future,as the one's that came with my itouch start to fall out when i'm jogging/running...

i just have to decide which one's at a sensible price,but must also be of good quality...

EX85s are good for cheap phones, about £25

shure SE210s or UE super.fi 3 above that for more like £55-£65
