Fake Lightroom 5 Serial on ebay

there is a problem with this ,a lot of people are only to happy to buy things like this to help there ever spiralling hobby costs from ,pushing them back into the dark ages .while i can't say that i would i do know more than a few fellow hobbyists who would only be to happy to indulge in purchasing things this way

I used to attend my local camera club many moons ago before I knew better and the members there openly boasted about using pirated Adobe software and even offered to supply it to other members who didn't have it

i don't see how ,you have bought a fake copy at what i presume is a exceedingly cheap price ,and your screaming fake fake fake for all the world to see ,a lot of photographers would be more than happy to pay that for it AS LONG AS IT WORKED adobe makes /has made more than enough from us over the years with there yearly upgrades as it is .

i'll give you a example ,many years ago i worked in the original covent garden market in london ,a part of the cellar of one of the building was a place where you could buy virtually anything that was stolen ,burgled, shoplifted in london the previous week ,it di a roaring trade from the market traders as cash was the order of the day ,
BUT the best customers and i witnessed this daily were the policemen ,solicitors ,barristers and judges from bow street magistrates court which was a scant 100mtrs away .LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN ETC etc.

A bit harsh, Jeff imho. o_O

I get where you're coming from, but the OP isn't happy & seems to be doing the honest thing?

So the auction is for £46 how much sould the product be approx?

so the ebay price is less than half the cheapest available standard price?

sorry but when i go to turkey on holiday i buy a breitling wrist watch off one of the market stalls for £10 ,it looks like a breitling ,it works exactly the same as a breitling ,it tells the same time ,and side by side it looks to all intents and purposes like the real thing .i know its a fake simply because of what i paid for it ,COME ON WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BLOODY COFFEE ,if it sounds to good to be true ,it always is .if euan wanted the real thing there are plenty of places that it can be bought at the proper price ,or do we go round the magic roundabout once more and come back to 50 shades of grey imports ,you can buy cameras direct from H.K or CHINA ,or buy a grey from a u.k based seller but its not a u.k model is it

I wonder if when/if the OP gets a refund he will be unistalling the offending SW and buying pukka?
or just keeping it and having a wee chuckle....

So by your logic if i bought a stolen car that would be fine as long as the price was cheap enough? Just because i wanted to buy something at a reasonable price doesn't mean i wanted to buy something fake, i wanted a genuine copy of light room is there a problem with trying to get it cheaper than Amazon? Adobe could block that particular serial and then its completely useless. There have a been a couple sold on here for the £50 mark that's what got me looking. I'm well aware of where to go and look if i wanted a fake or pirated bit of software, but if i was going to do that would i not be better and going the whole hog and getting photoshop as that would be the better bargain and im quite capable of using that also but i wanted LR as i prefer that.

Ive had some really good deals on ebay, including genuine Windows 8 that were far cheaper than buying from any retailer, so i applied that logic thinking i would be covered by ebay if it went wrong. I asked for some advice on here and got some really good help. For those that think im pulling a fast one or knew i was buying fake then thats up to you. For what its worth the software is already uninstalled and i will be buying genuine

Well said Euan.

For those suggesting otherwise, think about it for a minute (or even less) who would intentionally buy fake adobe software when adobe software is one of the most pirated and easily available via certain types of download. If you were actively looking for fake software surely you wouldn't pay for it! Therefore anyone who is paying a reasonable amount (as in this case) is expecting the genuine article.

Anyone with children of school age 'has' student status, just saying.

lesson learned if it seems to good to be true.............

Personally if I had looked up prices and then found it was less than half price on ebay my spiders senses would have been laughing

Your correct there, im normally pretty good at spotting things like that and wasnt worried as i thought id be covered by eBay if it all went wrong.

Ern nope, thats outside the terms of the agreement. Same as if you use it for commercial purposes.

Am I eligible?

Which implies you could use your child to get software cheap. It's also wrong as the child has to be 13 or over, not any child of school age.

This is obviously outside the software agreement, (and forum rules) Just wanted to point that out before anyone is encouraged to think they could do this...

What I wrote was kind of tongue in cheek with some people seeming to be assuming Euan was 'trying' to get the software on the cheep I'll try and make that clearer next time :)

To be fair what you said was correct, I was trying to get it on the cheap. However I also wanted a genuine copy.

Ok so quick update, money refunded from paypal. They were supposed to decide on the 22nd so it looks like the seller refunded yesterday. Thanks for all the advice
