Fake Britain camera batteries and chargers

wowser ,that is frightening
 
The scary bit for me, apart from the way the battery exploded, was that the web site they showed him ordering from was Amazon!! It was sold by someone else and the order fulfilled by Amazon. I must admit that perhaps foolishly, I had trusted Amazon to supply genuine goods, but that puts a lot of doubt in my mind now.
 
The trouble is even the big stores can get caught out with counterfeits :(

I tend to look out for supplied and fulfilled by amazon when I'm buying stuff like batteries and memory cards as then if there is issues I know exactly who door I'm going to be banging on ;)

I did exactly that recently when I ordered a Sandisk SD card to avoid fakes, it does make Amazon Marketplace look rather like eBay though.

That said if amazon don't dispatch my latest order soon they'll be in my bad books as for once I've actually paid for next day delivery and the order was placed with hours to spare in the order window but alas it shows as estimated delivery not tomorrow but the 6th and a somewhat am dubious I'll actually get a courier delivery on a Saturday :(
 
trouble is that most of the scammers that used to do BIG business on e/bay have due to the bays policy of clamping down and taking the buyers side ,now migrated to amazon to sell there dodgy wares .and at least with the bay of e's you can see feedback and read it good and bad ,plus you can see where the item originates/is sent from .
the trouble is as was pointed out to me earlier the program only really covered copies not dodgy generic ones

I've had courier deliveries on a Sunday in recent months. You've a very good chance of one on a Saturday.

That's good then at least :thumbs: ...though still say when you order at about 11am and pay for next day delivery you expect it to come the following day, not 3 days later :(

I've just bought Philips Bulbs for the car. It's nigh on impossible to get genuine ones so I went via Philips' own website who link to amazon to buy them. The ones I got were genuine, but for one of the other types they linked to ones which I'm certain were fakes, or at least the pics on the listing were of fakes. That was a different supplier to the ones I bought though.

Euro car parts should sell genuine parts.

It is a worry though.

Many years ago a workmate took some shoes in to be mended, the shop advertised 24Hr Repairs, he went back the next day and was told they would be ready in 2 days time. When he queried this he was told "We only work 8Hrs a day so 24Hrs equals 3 Days"
