Fairford riat

Found out I don't have to work this weekend and fancied going to the RIAT at Fairford but as all tickets have been sold is there anywhere nearby to photograph the aircraft. Totterdown seems close but would I get good shots with a 300mm + 1.4 converter from this location?

I had the same thing last year. I think we should be prepared for it to sell out each year now.

There are two main park and view fields, Totterdown or Rhymes Barn. There are positives for both of them depending on what you're looking for.

Totterdown is further away from the runway but from what I've heard the planes seem to fly more directly over it, during their loop? I have only experiences Rhymes barn which I thought was amazing, it;s overlooking the runway and you can still easily see the display. The great thing about this location is that the planes pass you very close to the fence and often stop for pictures, to wave etc. I have a Sunday ticket for RIAT but am still tempted to go into the field on the Saturday anyway because for £15 a car you can't go wrong.
