Facial copyright

I wonder how this will affect photography?


It's not so different from France's existing Droit à l'image, except perhaps set in terms of copyright, if the article is accurate.


The mention of 'severe fines' does suggest Denmark could be criminalising breaches of this kind of copyright.

If the only exceptions are parodies and satire as stated in the article, it could make news reporting very difficult, along with other things like street photography.

Going to the Danish Government web site, the proposal covers specifically 'digitally generated imitations of personal characteristics', rather than regular photography, video or audio recordings, which may keep us off the hook! :)
