I keep seeing single word updates (which are mostly from wimmin) with one word stating a colour, usually Black. Are they on drugs?

 :)

they are stating the bra colour they are wearng at that time. i only know this as my better half is in on it too. its supposed to be a big secret lol

Ahh! Thank fork for that! Thought they were all mad.

I suppose I'd better update my profile.

Peek-a-boo. Black.

:D

She-who-was-formerly-known-as AliB?

I'm sure the charity would prefer cash.....

no, cash doesn't help spread the word as well as something like this in my opinion!

because out of all the different cancers, thats the one that needs awareness raised the most

Is it? What about prostate cancer which affects 35,000 men each year compared to 45,000 women with breast cancer and yet recieves an absolute fraction of the charitable donations for research that breast cancer does and a far worse stanard for care from the NHS (according to the All-Party Parliamentary Cancer Group) Inthe words of a prostate cancer charity "While breast cancer has received huge public support, 70% of adults in the UK don’t even know what the prostate does."

Breast cancer is highly treatable and has a high survival rate. Wouldn't the funds raised for breast cancer be better spent on other types of cancers with far worse survival rates?

:agree:

i was being sarky :)

you said it all in your post.

I am probably going to get a tirade from someone for this, but I am with Gary and Barney on this, breast cancer awareness, whilst an admirable cause, is probably about the most well known of them all. You would have to have been living under a rock for the last 20 years not to be aware of it and what to do about it. In fact fellas, seeing as its much less well known that you guys can get it too, time to start updating your statuses with the style of vest you are wearing :D Alternatively, pants colour/style [you know, red boxers, leopard print Y-fronts] to raise awareness of either prostrate and/or testicular cancer AND what to do about either, spotting symptoms, etc!!

I will now dismount gracefully....

.....and ask, What the hell is Facebook anyway? :whistling:

not going to argue with your other sentiments - but just to let you know there are, I think, 11 different types of breast cancer (not including all the variants/hormone markers within those) , and survival at 5 years varies from 98% to just 10% depending on type and how advanced at diagnosis.

eta - I'm not argueing that other cancers aren't as important, but they are equally important and diverting attention from one onto another is a bad place to go.

I told my wife that I like Black underwear.

She stopped washing my pants :(

I think we should raise awareness of Testicular Cancer, but think of an idea better then a colour of boxers etc...
