Isn't it just strange when someone at work who has never spoken to you before or never returns a friendly nod when passing each other on the shop floor finds your name on facebook, next thing you know there is a friends request on your page from them asking to be a friend.

I just love clicking that ignore button, my only regret is doesn't send them a message saying "Your request is being ignored by yourname so p""s off"

i find it useful in that i have a lot of friends overseas (model car racers mainly)& its a lot easier to leave them a message on there as they pretty much all check it regularly. if its a private message then i send it as such if its just a general message i'll post it on their wall which also gives other mutual friends the chance to "chime in" if needed :)

yeah some people complain that you're leaving yourself too open but you just need to be aware that people can only see as much as you put on there so if its a secret dont post it up :bonk:

also i have a friend who's started a new business & his first car is being released in a few weeks. there have been a LOT of extra kits sold just through promoting the brand via facebook

Whats the difference to FB and TP ,all about communication at the end of the day ,or am i missing summit .I'm giving FB a wee tryout just now to feed my curiosity , have to say i'm not really that impressed and will probably delete my account.:)as Dod said ,there are people wanting to be friends on there (family too ..long story ) that i don't particularly want to be involved in a conversation with, but that's my choice ....

I joined about 5 years ago to see something you could only see by registering, didn't go near it for 3 years, logged in again to find 30 people wanted to be my friend, sad gets, didn't know any of them, not been back since.

I can see the usefulness of keeping in touch with friends long distance but it's free on BT after 7pm so if I want to do that I actually speak to them

I like FB for the apps, Farm games, jewel quest etc. I have over 400 *friends* most of whom I don't know from Adam. lol

I keep up with my real friends by speaking to them.
