Facebook App Update

Since last night, I've been getting a pop-up notification about a Facebook update on my android S2 phone. However, it's not the usual update from the play store - it's an independant update. When I click on it, a browser type window pops up (with the facebook colours and look and feel) and states that a new update was downloaded and need to update this application. I've checked the play store and there is no facebook update. So, i'm wary of this. Has anyone had this same update?

I've had to do a strange FB update today. My phone set it off running automatically though. It failed when I tried this morning but has worked this lunchtime. It seems all ok.

I had a similiar message, also thought it was a little unusual....did a search and found no scare stories so went ahead with it today.
