nearly got hit just now by a stupid cow driving a 4x4 on her own in the car and wearing a face mask .. seen a few about the same this morning as well .. what the hell is the reason to wear a mask while on your own in your own car . is the virus going to jump out of the air vents at you .. do they make you social distance from other cars on the road .. the bloody worlds gone crazy .. let me off FFS :exit::exit::exit::exit::exit::exit::exit::exit:

Thinking about it, if you are following a car and the driver is smoking or vaping and blows the smoke out of their window, 90% of the time you can smell it in your car a few seconds later as the air passes unfiltered from outside through the vents directly at your face. I agree though, it's complete madness and unneccessary.

If I'm on a short journey between 2 places where I need to wear a mask, I often don't take it off because my fingers don't work very well and I find masks difficult to put on.

you dont NEED to wear a mask anywhere in Wales apart from public transport though Marc ?

The point of my post though Marc is ,,imho I feel the mask was actually impairing her driving ,unless of course she was just a normal female behind the wheel of a 4x4 mock Sherman tank with a severe case of pmt as she didn’t seem to register the fact I was in her way

Skipping over the bias in the OP, I too have seen people in a car with a mask on and I've assumed there are a variety of reasons - e.g. put it on like putting your coat on when leaving the house; just dropped someone off and being cautious about the air in the car. I'm a bit more curious about people wearing plastic gloves in the car, surely you would take the gloves off before you got in to avoid contaminating surfaces in the car?

Just because you can smell smoke doesn't mean sufficient virus particles can get in the car. I can smell smoke much further than 2 metres from the smoker but the science says that the droplets containing significant viral load, which are much heavier than smoke particles, fall to the ground within 2m. Smoke particles are held up by Brownian motion.

How would wearing a mask impeded her driving? Or are you just putting 2+2 together and making 5? ie, she's wearing a mask* and driving badly therefore she's driving badly because she's wearing a mask.

now that when driving instructors were allowed to resume, they and their students were required to wear masks. I'm guessing that's still the case.

* Assuming she isn't wearing the mask over her eyes of course.

I have noticed that Amazon drivers here wear a mask all the time.

Although wearing a mask would make no difference to driving I do see where the OP is coming from there is something about the way young women in large 4 wheel vehicles drive we had a young woman In a big bmw thing tailgating us really badly though a North Wales village today in a 30 limit was aggressive and dangerous

Might be the same bitch Pete LOL

Sounds like she’s a bad driver because she’s a bad driver, she’s not a bad driver because of the mask she had on, unless she had it over her eyes. Next time you might claim her lipstick is affecting her driving.

think about it, think about how it sounds, think how that would go down in court if there was an accident. You really going to give evidence that the accident was to do with her mask and not just because of the bad driving? You will come across looking a bit special.

Maybe not her car.. Hire car, loan car.. friends car

Jeff just refers to her as 'a stupid cow' initially, then a 'bitch' in his reply to you.... and no mention of age. Just saying. :)

In my day job I am a key worker and work in a job where I'm working with four other people in the cab of a lorry, these people rotate daily , A question was asked of our really clever management ( ha ha ha ha ) which was if one of us start coughing do we all have to self isolate ? The reply was no just open the window ! Now if we had all known this from the start we could of sorted the whole problem out by just keeping all our windows open ! Some times I wonder if they actually believe it them selves or just think we are all thick enough to believe their BS ! . 1000 plus of us all swapping about mixing with each other with other people and our families and not one case of covid !

Unrelated, but after all this is the OOF forum:)
I spent an enjoyable few hours in my local A&E last night, long and boring story.

All staff were wearing masks and some had visors, I arrived wearing a mask but there's a kind of pre-reception there where everyone is temperature scanned and issued with a mask. However, in the waiting area, a lot of people had taken their masks off or were "wearing" them not covering their noses, and sometimes not even their mouths, and none of the staff did anything about it. Pretty much the same thing when I pulled into a garage for fuel last week - big shop there, and I was the only one wearing a mask.

This does annoy me too. The problem really is the ‘masses’. Wearing a mask with the ‘nose out’ also makes me cringe!

If a face mask impedes your driving then bikers are screwed.

My pet hate is seeing people wearing of a mask with a vent ....... allowing their user to 'vent' their germs more easily

It's not worth saying anything to them... I mean how on earth can you expect to reason with someone who's so stupid they can't even work out how to put a mask on properly?!

Yes the vented ones are meant for a different use there is no point in wearing one of those for Covid
