Day 252

Ready for the off

Only chance I had to take a photo, at the hotel in
Birmingham airport. Flew out the next morning.​

Night Swimming?

Did a bit of night photography around the pool.​

Day 254

St Theodore's Lighthouse

Visited Kefalonia's capital Argostoli followed by a visit to
the nearby St Theodore's Lighthouse, very picturesque.​

Day 255

Sami

A rip over to Sami, a very beautiful harbour town on the east coast of the
island and was used to depict Argostoli for the film Captain Corelli's Mandolin
(The architecture had changed too much in Argstoli since WW2).​

Day 256

Sally

A lazy day by the pool and then to the beach. This is Sally who came into our
room in the afternoon demanding affection (and no- doubt hoping for food).​

Day 257

Assos

Went to Fiskardo, at the northen tip of the island. It's a harbour town full of
very wealthy yacht owners (with taverna prices to match! ). It's also the
only town on the island which survived the 1953 earthquake intact. This is
actually a view of the town of Assos, we stopped on the way to Fiskardo.​

Day 258

Lixouri

Over to the "other capital". Lixouri was originally in the running to be the capital
of Kefalonia, but lost out to Argostoli. This was taken by the entrance to the harbour.​

Sue

Went for a drive along the south of the island, stopping off at a taverna in
Katelios for a nice cold drink. And here's a bonus pic in case ya missed me!

Day 260

Drogerati Cave

An underground cavern with amazing stalactites and stalagmites. It also has
amazing acoustics and the actually hold concerts down there. Wasn't allowed
to u9se flash so had to use high ISOs, the camera seemed to cope quite well.​

San Gerassimos Monastery

A truly beautiful place to visit and right next door to the Robola Winery! ​

Myrtos Beach

A breathtaking place and one that the Sigma 10-20 was made for! ​

A Monument.....

To the bridge that spans the harbour at Argostoli. It stands at
the halfway point and Argostoli is ini the background here.​

Beaches

Spend the day driving round, finding secluded and mostly deserted beaches.​

Sue again.

Visited some more beaches, including Antisamos beach, also use in Captain
Corelli's Mandolin. This was by far my favourite shot of the day tough! ​

Sami again.

Decided to go back to Sami o our last full day as it is our favourite place on the island.​

Waiting

After breakfast and waiting for the coach to the airport. What better to do than
feed the resident cats at the hotel. It's been a fantastic holiday and it's a place
I'd recommend to anyone. ​

Nearly done

A visit to see the gee gee was in order an they've been hard at work on the
sand school. Rubber being delivered on Monday, then some rain required.​

The outstanding one's for me are, 257, 258, 259 (Sue ) 262 would be my desktop background immediately. Is 263 a bit under-exposed?? Oh, and Sue

Sue thanks you. Well it makes a change for you to be jealous of me with all the coastal areas you have to shoot!

263 is pretty much as it was, it was actually quite overcast at that time.

Day 269

Square Eyes

Seem to have spend the whole day at the computer, processing the holiday pics,
catching up with emails etc. So, am I the first to use a photo OF my 365 IN my 365? ​

Day 270

Highest Point

Went over to Wendover Woods today. Followed the trail to "The Highest Point"
and this is where it led. Was expecting a lovely view and all we got was a rock!​
