"8000"

Yes, this is my 8000th post on TP! :woot: And boy
did I waste some tomato puree getting this shot!

Congratz on the 8000 mark, good to see this still going, shows dedication. :D

Congratulations Bart on reaching 8,000! Sorry I mean Marc!

Like the shot.

I've been meaning to try a mirror/glass shot with the lightbox for a while.

Looks hard to master, are they real flowers??

Edit: just seen that they aren't!!

No JD, they're silk. That's why it's called "Silk Flowers"! :D

Edit: Just seen your edit! :D

Aren't there those anti-static swiffer cloth things available? Some of them are supposed to prevent dust coming back a bit. I haven't tried them but it just occurred to me that it might be an idea.

I like the photo by the way - how was it getting the rose and the reflection in focus?

Thanks, I'll look up the swiffer cloths.

I used a smallish aperture (f11) and focused on the centre of the rose. Probably could have gone smaller if I'm honest but the reflection doesn't appear to be as clean as I would like. Don't know if it has anything to do with the texture of the card underneath the glass.

I've been taking more floral shots recently and my last 2 have been in the light tent, the use of the glass is looks like a very nice idea.

Thanks Julian (It is Julian isn't it?). The glass is from a 12x9 clipframe. Ideally I would like a bigger piece so will probably pick one up from Wilkinsons.

Yeah it is Julian ;)

Ahh Wilkinsons, great for picking up stuff like this at cheap prices. Will take a look myself :)

just catching up Marc, hope you are felling better really liking the 8000 and day 120 is stunning

Day 122

No more lawn

And Miki came to inspect. Lawn came up today and I'm still vibrating from the
turf cutter! Sue's already started laying the membrane and then it's all systems
go for the paving and slate. Got 2 of those Hippo bags for all the turf, can't
believe how much it costs to get them to come and pick them up!

ooohhhh will it be finished by the end of the weekend?!

All bar the slate, that's being delivered Tuesday/Wednesday. In the meantime tghere will be plenty of time to rearrange the paving a couple of hundred times before she's happy with it...........and then a couple of hundred times more after that! :help:
