Fabs' 365 for 2009.....Fin

I missed yesterday's pic due to an early night followed by a long day.

Lovely shots and lovely sentiment :D You should have entered that for this months comp (if it's allowed!)

Today's is great too - you have a very expressive face and you capture it really well.

Thanks Kitten. Can't enter it for the comp as I have posted it here, but I wanted to do something different for the comp anyway.

Good pic Marc really portrays how your felling, fortunately I have a job unfortunately I absolutely hate it, been looking for a new one for quite a while now so I know about the frustration, people always say it's easier to find a job when you working, well i say thats a right loads of old b*ll*ck's.

Sean

I don't think it's easy any way you do it Sean. Best of luck in your search.

I stayed in 2 jobs for 5 years each, left for a new one and lasted about 3 months, been in this one for 2 weeks.
I can't see it being another 5 year jobbie. Working or not, a lot of it comes down to who you know and luck. Luckily for me somebody I know headhunted me.

Day 19
Frustration

I've lost count of the number of jobs I've applied for. There doesn't seem to be anything out there at my skill/experience level and, when I apply for something at a slightly lower level, I get a response of "Over Experienced"! :bang: Got one of those today and really did feel like banging my head against a wall. See? You son't have to have a job to have a Monday! ;)
...

I know how you feel about the no jobs at your skill level and any lower ones you get told your over qualified :bang:.

I mean really do they not realise that you're fully aware that the job is below your skills but you are applying for it because you want the job .

Although on the opposite side I was once working on an IT helpdesk just answering the phone and logging the calls. They kept wanting me to do a hell of a lot more because I was as qualified as any of the other admin's yet didn't want to pay me the 10k p/a odd difference in wage... I just kept to answering the phones till the short term contract ran out.

Thats crazy for a 2 month temp job... I mean it's only 2 months even if you did find employment you would most likely still be able to work out the remaining time of the contracted 2 months.

Exactly, but when they have about 60 people applying I suppose they have to get creative with the rejection excuses.

I guess that's the way with it a lot of the time, as a way of thinning down the entries they have to look through they throw away loads with flimsy excuses even though the people they throw away could be better at the job...

My gf works for a consultancy company and partly her job was organising some theatres, this was taken out on a years contract, that contract was coming to an end and the group where looking to hire somebody permanent rather than putting it out to tender again. She didn't get the job despite the fact she had been doing it for the best part of a year, she didn't even get through to the interview stage...

love the last 2 marc
you are enjoying the self portraits arent you and we dont mind really lol

Day 20

Just Me

Well, after pulling all those faces I thought I'd come out from behind the mask and just post a portrait of me. Cheesy isn't it? :DI even put a proper shirt on for the occasion!

Been a reasonably good day today. Had a phone call from an agency to say that they were optimistic of getting something for me soon (Cautious optimism on my part) and went over to see our horse and to make her feeds as Sue is working late this evening. And the weather was decent too.

Marc, A very 'honest' portrait image there, and looks more like a publicity type shot or something from the back cover of a best-selling novel :)

I'll start it for you.......

"It was a cold, damp miserable day early one January......."

So that the two hardest bits done, you just need to put the 'filling' in :D

Cool - "and they all lived happily ever after"

Right, done. Just wait for the royalties to start flooding in now. :D

haha Chilli's right, it does look like an author photo. Really good portrait shot :D

Day 20 eh and still going!!

And it really DOES look like an author photo :D

Got to go with the majority on this Marc you do look like an author in that shot, It is a very well taken photo wouldn't look out of place on the back of most novels :). Good to hear the agency are optimistic hope you get something soon mate.

Sean

Cheers, you too!

And as the wind rattled through the tree's the old gate swung open, as a footstep was heard on the path....

Blimey Del. Maybe you should be the one writing the book!

Keep em coming Marc.. hope the agency sorts you something. I liked Frustration, very good.

There must be a book in your 365?

Yeah but theres then so many ways you can go with it.
Is it a spooky novel, is it a love story, a war story etc....

But it shows you have the prose! :D

Talk Photography

Have always loved taking photographs, but it was always Point & Shoot. Then, after my diagnosis, I decided to take it up seriously. Then I found Talk Photography.....................Then I went to another Photography forum. :D But then, and more importantly, I came back!:woot: Over a year and 5,000 posts later, I really feel like I'm part of a community, a family and it really does help me get though the days. I really wouldn't have dreamed a year ago that I would be doing something like this, but I am enjoying it very much.

So today's 365 is to say thank you to TP and all the members that make it one hell of a place to be!
