F90x Problem

Just a few days ago I found that I could use my Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Tele-Macro LD on my Nikon F90x. Subsequently, I found that the lens would only work properly in P mode and would be at F/32 in A and M adn F/22 in S mode.

Anyone got any ideas why this might be?

HMMM I can't remember the controls on the F90 but looking at pictures of the lens it look like the equivalent to Nikon's G series so no aperture setting on the lens its self.

So I would expect it to work in P mode and set its self to f32 or Shutter Priority mode.

If it has no aperture settings on the lens body then I would be very surprised if it would work in Manual or Aperture Priority modes, simple cause the F90 lacks a 'command' wheel like the F5 and F6 or Nikon DSLR machines have to change the lens aperture settings.

Then again I could be wrong.
