Just mentioned on sky sports news.

Michael Shumacher to replace injured Felipe Massa.

Just read this story myself. Wonder if he'll be as good as we all remember him after his break??

that will be interesting, I wouldnt expect him to just get in and spank the rest, but hes gonna make Kimi and the rest look mega stoopid if he steps up and really does well in a car that he hasnt even driven!

Or make himself look very stoopid if he dosnt go well.

But must admit i thought he would be told to race it, after all he is still on the books, and with no testing this year at all, i cant really see the other Ferrari drivers on the books being able to match Schumacher, different if they had been testing the car. Still far from ideal though as the first chance MS or any-one else would have of driving that car is on the Friday before the race weekend. I hope he does kick butt though being a Ferrari fan as i have never ever rated Kimi much.

This will be very interesting .One of the top motocross riders in the world Micheal Pichon came out of retirement after 3yrs out to fill for an injured Cederic Mellote a couple weeks back,he kicked butt .I would not be a bit surprised if schumacher does the same ,after all he is the ..."STIG"...:D

What about BMW pulling the plug

A car he hasn't driven? I thought it was common knowledge he still test drives Ferrari's, road and race. Although he's officially an advisor.....

He also got in to trouble last year internally as he drove that season's F1 car round Fiorana for a charity event, only to post a time within a second of Kimi. This was meant to be have been his first outing in it at that time as Ferrari still had several full time testing teams.

other good news is massa is out of intesive care and said to be doing well, and also doctors say he is likly to race again

hes not driven this one for more than a few laps in preseason if at all, the testing ban and all that, plus 2 contracted test drivers would get in the way and his motorcycle crash in may..

and he wont get to drive it until first practice now either

yyeah read that earlier, that to me is better news that Schumacher is back

Looking forward to the Hamilton vs Schumacher racing that will follow

This will be quite interesting if he passes the fitness test.

True he tests 'cars' for Ferrari, but i dont think he even drove this car before the testing ban, regardless if he did the current spec of the car being used is completely different from front wing, rear wing chassis, sidepods, floor, front suspension geomentry (from the announced changes could even be more) inisense the only thing the same is the engine.

It is very good news about Massa.

I will lay odds that shuey is on the podium in his first race

It will be very interesting to see him back in an F1 car, and one that is radically different to the last one he drove (April 2008 was the last time he drove one by the way). I wouldn't expect to much from him in Valencia. As has been said above, he has never driven the car or the circuit, so he really is being thrown in at the deep end. Spa could be a different matter however...

I reckon he will be on the Belgium podium.

Hes going to be even more immense with the KERS enabled :p

Should hopefully add some more action to the series - with Redbull and Brawn upfront, Mclaren starting to make headway, not doubt Schumachers feedback will start to improve the car so we could see Ferrari making headway up the pack - and what about Alonso? Was his pole in Hungary a fluke or has he turnt that car around for the second half of the year like he did in 08?

To be honest I think he will own prety much everyone in the current flock of drives if the car is decent.

Kimi has lost interest from what I have seen, Alonso is ok but seems to have lost the consistency he once had in bundles.

Mika Hakkinen was only driver that could live with him IMO, although I will be interestd in seeing how he deals with Hamilton if his car is also decent.

Could spice up the season quite a bit, shame it has come as a result of a bad time for Massa who I have always said is a real gentleman.
