Hi, This is a rant but if you want to respond thats fine.
I purchased again from Panamoz for the 2nd time in May, They express on their site about delays because of this F****** Covid virus, well yeah I can understand that a bit and my 1st purchace was delayed by 1 day so not so bad and they did refund me £30 for that so I`m happy but last Friday I purchased again from them, they sent out to Fedex and it was collected on the Monday and it had no problem to get half way around the world by Wednesday (Wedesday was my delivery day according to Fedex) but nothing, nada, rien, zilch by 6pm, I emailed Panamoz, no replay until Thursday after yet another email to them.
They sais they contacted Fedex and I should have it by Friday the latest, Guess F****** what, NADA, RIEN ZILCH & nothing again by 6pm, So, I guess it`ll be Monday now, But what gets me is that they can get something halfway around the world in a day but fail to do the last 750 klm in 3 days.............FEDEX are F********* USELESS and they are blaming this F******* Covis epidemic for the delay.
My wife has her own business and during the lock-down she was doing more sales than before the lock-down so how does that work out, I`m baffled
I guess i`ll have to pester Panamoz again....
PS, I`m in the Southeast of France so I guess the logistics work different here than the UK, The UK they just get it done, Here, the French I guess are on strike or having coffee.
Rant over.

You've got to be kidding? Here it's been hell. Delays of up to 3 weeks with Royal Mail parcels, air freight from China we're seeing 2 weeks instead of 3 days as it gets stuck in a queue. EU stock we're getting typical delays of 2-3 days, one batch we've had on a partial air-land from China through EU to UK currently on 8 weeks. Our average delay for RM parcels was 6 days if they got delayed, some managed to sail through.

There's no regular air travel and most shipments are fighting over cargo freight. If there's no space it gets bumped to the next flight and if that's already full it sits in holding until there is capacity. This is not Panamoz' fault.

Yeah I know it`s not the fault of Panamoz, good guys really. I know of someone that ordered from Panamoz a day or 2 before me and he`s happily shooting away now on his new machine and he`s in the UK.
I can`t see they will not put on more planes if they aint got enough room on a plane, I know it`s Money but they are getting good money in my eyes and we`re suffering.

So you are annoyed, do we really need all the swearing though?

Clearly you expect everything to be normal, during this pandemic. maybe now is not the time for you to be buying online.

Obviously I didn't want to put swear words directly here even though they'd get unhilighted out.
If they put a date then you'd expect it on that date but if they actually put "between ** date and ** date that would be more acceptable, luckily I'm not taking time off from work waiting for the parcel.

From reading the title I honestly thought you’d lost a loved one rather than your new toys didn’t turn up on time!
Wouldn't you be a bit hacked off if you had to wait in for 3 days for a 10 hr period each day waiting for something that was clearly marked with a delivery date.

I ordered a PC during this lockdown, I paid extra for the priviledge of priority build and delivery - when it didn't arrive within 5 days I was annoyed, and emailed the company who were building it to moan a bit that I'd wasted the £25 extra for priority ... the PC arrived a couple days later and I felt a bit guilty. Felt a bit of a d*ck tbh, considering everything going on around us, here I was only concerned about my own entertainment. No moral here, just saying, it'll arrive, and you'll maybe feel similar, nothing wrong with a rant though. I mean, I'd be a total hipocrite if I was against it :D

But why swear at all?

And as for expecting a parcel on a given date during this pandemic, you really do need to look at your expectations and your attitude.

In the big scale of things (even the little scale of things) your rant is irrelevant.

In normal circumstances 42% of global air freight is carried in the holds of passenger flights. there simply are not enough cargo planes to make up the shortfall, and prices would need to raise to stupid amounts to fly passenger planes just for cargo and empty cabins.

Tbh, i didn't know that about cargo going on passenger flights.
Thanks

I have to say it really does P me off when couriers give you a vague window for delivery, you put off heading out - even at this time [I head out 1-2 a day still as I do all the go-getting for the family] only for them not to show at all on the day. You get that follow up email or text telling you there's delays, only after initially giving you that window - then they repeat this frustration again - has happened to me more than a couple of times now and believe me, I have ranted and sworn and kicked a few kittens .... ok, last bit is a lie, i actually love cats :D

Exactly my point but my point was a bit more expletive [emoji23]
Thanks

To be fair we buy loads of stuff online and deliveries during the Pandemic have been pretty good, only one or two dealys. I sacked off Amazon Prime though becuase they completely lost the plot.

My missus has used Amazon Prime for years now, and they used to be great - she'd get stuff from UK to Ireland next day at times, but lately they have been worse than standard post from any generic site. She's been thinking on binning them too, she doesn't even use their storage or TV/movie side as she also has Netflix and it has more shows she prefers - just in it for he speedier delivery. With that out, it's a complete waste

I have to say we have had very few issues with Amazon Prime during this difficult period.

I've never NEEDED anything from Amazon so desperately that having prime would be worth it. Always been (relatively!) happy enough to wait for the extra couple of days that a non-prime order takes. Did end up with a prime trial once - failed to hit the right button 10 times in a row... Cancelled as soon as I realised then watched an episode of their top gear clone crap, realised it wasn't worth watching the others and have lived happy ever after!

Everything that I've ordered with next day delivery has turned up next day.
I have noticed though a lot of prime items are not next day, but 2-3 days.

I ordered two ebay items, both Royal Mail 24, on the 25th and 26th of May. Guess what....? Still nothing......
I buy and sell a lot on the bay , most of the Royal Mail items I have sent have arrived very quickly to the buyers even bulky ones ..but I always use first class or SD signed for and ensure tracking is added and followed up , so far only one tricky gent With a foreign name claiming non delivery . Purchases are coming through as well on time .always read expected delivery dates if it’s months ahead the item is obviously from the Far East even if they claim to be in the u.k ...this is something e.bay needs to look at more imho.

My main disappointment is with amazon they seem to have really fallen on there backsides during the covid with e.bay often being cheaper and quicker .

And most photography shops now online are doing a 100% service to re deliveries

Not really, we shouldn't be going out anyway.

I ordered a lens I and it arrived from Shanghai to London in about 30 hours.

Haven't really noticed much (if any) slowdown with domestic orders either. If anything I'm getting my mail faster since someone's always home to sign for deliveries, so I don't have to go to the collection office!

I have found RM to be 2 - 4 days slower. DPD consistently 1 day slower. Herpes 1 day slower. TNT no delays. Amazon Prime mostly achieving next day delivery.
Companies that usually take 7 - 10 days to dispatch goods are still exactly that slow.
Some companies are not taking phone or email enquiries.
Overall the inconvenience is no big deal.

I ordered from panamoz recently, just over 24 hours from there to the UK, from clicking by it now.
And then 3 days from the UPS depot which is about 20 miles away.
Checking the tracking it was still showing "delayed" by UPS a week after it was delivered.
I even had an email at that point from Panamoz apologising for the delay.
I did explain that it had arrived.
I can't fault that service ( from Panamoz anyway)

Ebay purchase ( UK -UK )has been sitting in the Hermes dept for 3 days, ( as of today) that's about 2 miles from me
No wonder most sellers are giving much longer delivery dates

I totally agree on this!
Also the price does sometimes also give it away, if its significantly cheaper, of course.

I've had a few things from Amazon UK recently that have been shown as in stock and when the email comes it's two months delivery and coming from China. It's annoying as hell.

That's happened twice in the distant past to me, the next thing I do is cancel the order and look elsewhere.

I don't know why but I expected better from Amazon.

Interestingly, one thing was made in France but still came from China.

Nope, I'm working from home so supposed to be here anyway.

The company I work for exports about 95% of our products to all parts of the world. Right now there is a serious lack of freight space on aircraft and, not mentioned very often, several countries are quarantining freight when it arrives in country to give time for any virus to expire. That may well account for your delays but even if it doesn't your "problem" pales into insignificance comapred to the deaths and suffering being felt around the world.

First world problems, people are dying from Covid-19 here, and also from government incompetence and from being unable to get treatment for other serious conditions. In other countries that don't have our NHS infrastructure, the problems are even worse.

And yet you're ranting about a small delay in getting a luxury item - that's sad. And it's especially sad because if you hadn't been so keen to evade VAT and import duties you could have bought it in from the UK and supported one of the businesses that's suffering from the financial impact of the virus.

As he lives in France, why would he want to buy from the UK and support our economy if he can get it cheaper from another country?

Fair point, he could buy in in France and support their economy.
