Yes
After the breeze and beer of the Llandudno stagger last year I was wondering whether it should be repeated but perhaps somewhere like Lytham St Anne's? It has a train station at least and isn't too far from Preston/Manchester etc. There seem to be plenty of places to eat and it appears to have a windmill and a micro brewery.... http://www.lythambrewery.co.uk/

Does this sound like a good idea to do sometime before it is too wintery to contemplate?

The more the merrier

I'm assuming after the Arundel meet weekend is decided it would be good to chose one that isn't sequential. I know some of you need day passes ;)

Obviously date dependant as I am an extremely busy and popular person (;)) but I am definitely a possiblity for this.

I am of course up for this, as a lot of you know I'm happy to attend the opening of an envelope or even @Andysnap 's wallet :D

Don't see why not!

Would someone like to put up a poll with dates as I'm ok with any and if it rains I won't turn up so I'm not the best choice for the actual critical implementation part ;)

This does happen, generally in line with a Blue Moon or a Preston Guild.

@RaglanSurf Meant to ask Nick, did the Ross Ensign box arrive with you?

I'll have a look at the calendar and see when I'm free and then I'll start a poll, sounds like a good idea does Lytham I don't think I've been. Just so long as I don't have to go into Blackpool though... I hate Blackpool.

Have you had a look at that calendar yet Mr @Andysnap or is the Butler failing in his duties again?

Oh, forgot about this. I shall get on it over the weekend and get a poll sorted out for dates.

I don't think it's the helps fault, I'm sure every time Roberts wakes Andy up Andy will bluster around for a bit not really knowing where he is and then have to sit down for another little nap.

Try and concentrate Andy, you've only got this one thing to do.

What thing... What..what's that? Who are you and where s my brandy?

Thought this needed a bump. Get those dates up Mr Snap.

Sorry guys I really don't think I can sort this one. I haven't got a free weekend in sight for... A long time.

Really sorry everyone :(

damn ios 8. Just replied from an entirely different thread!

It's getting a bit late for this year and decent weather. Leave it until April?

That would be good for me. Don't know what's happened this year, everything seems to be squashed up into the last 3 months....

Perhaps not a bad idea, we've got two film meets the next two weekends then it could all be a bit dark and gloomy.

Just remembered there was an embryonic plan to do a seaside meet when the weather improved. I'm assuming it would be later than Stratford Upon Avon...

How about a June date for it?

I'm still up for it :)

Good idea Suz, stick up some dates.

June 6th,7th or June 20th /21st. I think June 13th/14th is CPOP so I may be at that.

CPOP?

Seaside?.....i'm packing my bucket n spade at this very moment along wiv me arm bands! !!!! :D

OK so i won't be attending but it does sound like fun.... Especially the amusement arcades, candyfloss, and sand between ya toes:eek:

I'd suggest photos of someone buried up to their ears in sand... Nick @RaglanSurf is probably best victim, oops, candidate as he'll require the smallest hole :D:D

Huh! I'll have you know Roberts has pre-tied mine after ensuring the housekeeper had ironed them properly. ;)

You can hang onto Roberts, besides it seems hé has full time employment with you lot :p however if your housekeeper is spare and wishes for a permanent residence down hère, then i could make use!! :D:D

I was raised in this part of the world and lived in Lytham for a few years so know the area quite well. Lytham town centre has lots of independent shops, the only national chain I recall here is Pret a Manger.
The windmill on Lytham Green is a popular spot for visitors on summer weekends. Entrance inside the windmill is free and interesting. In the evening the windmill is lit in a way that is likely to reveal opportunities for more images. There is no sandy beach in this part of Lytham because you're at the entrance to the Ribble estuary. On the opposite side of the Estuary, you will see Southport and you may see windsurfers surfing between Lytham and Southport.
Not too far around the headland, you will come across the sandy beach that leads to St Annes. If it is windy, you may be lucky enough to see sand yachters speeding along the beach.
Heading further north towards the border with Blackpool (no need to enter Blackpool itself if you're allergic), there are lots of sand dunes with tall grasses where you may find some shots.
Lytham is probably the best for beer.
If I can get there, I will. Enjoy.
