I can fly to BHX but the times don't really work and I'd need to find some one to drive me all the way plus its not any cheaper than my convoluted tix I've just spent two hours working out.

Ended up paying £88 and getting the better train from Edinburgh to York, the connection is a little tight so I might regret that and end up spending a fortune getting from York to Derby but the alternative is sitting on a smelly Voyager for 2.5 hours longer than I need too.

I'll get to Derby for 1730 and Belper for 1805 assuming nothing goes catastrophically wrong.
Coming back I need that favour of being dropped at Derby in time for the 1438 train.
 
Coming up from the south it looks like Derby is IN the way. If there is no rain for the weekend I will be coming up by motorcycle...if rain then will be by car, but will have a bike in the back but still room for two people.

Would it be worth listing a rough area where everyone is travelling from so that people can arrange travelling up together etc? You all might already know who lives where, but all I know is that all of you apart from Woodsy and Brian are Northeners! :D

And all the better for it as well. :D We are coming in from leafy Cheshire, so cross country through the wilds of Derbyshire.
 
I'm based in London but depending on where I've been and where I'm going I will possibly travelling oop north via the M1 or from Lincolnshire via A16, A158 etc, or maybe even from Bakewell down the A6. Sorry can't be more helpful than that but depending on work commitments and weather I will try and get more of a break but won't know till nearer the time.

Paid. Visitors eh? We had 3 sets over the weekend, 5 extra people in the house plus my daughter who lives locally for meals. I was instructed to "tidy up", which it turns out meant clear all the shelves and desk space that I use. Just found the phone charger this morning, after a week, and the account security stuff just before lunch.
 
I'll be heading over by train from the Wirral via Chester so can sit back and dream about the shots that will get away ;0)

I've got 2 or 3 lenses for Praktica bayonet nothing special but no replies will give them to the charity shop...also going is a mint 28mm Hanimex for Minolta ( again nothing special). Might have an old Tamron 80mm -200 zoom.

I've received an MS Word file with 7 pages of info about the chapel and surrounding area from the holiday company! There's too much to post it all up here so if any of you want a copy, please let me know your email address and I'll forward it to you.

Also, it looks like Donut might be bringing his pal who came to the Lakes last year. If so, that will change the total cost for everyone and you'll all be due a £4 per person refund!! :banana: I'll sort that out with everyone in cash when we're there if that's okay.

:D Just in case there is still pollution around from the industrial revolution I won't go up the M40, but miss it all using the M1 :D

For southerners west of London.... IMO places to see on the way, using the M40, are more interesting than the M1 and it's only 13 miles longer to the meet.

I am probably being thick here,but, i do not understand,can you please enlighten me as to what this means.

The reason I am asking is because I love the Chilterns and do not understand what they have to do with Wales?

PS. Or for that matter the Dales meet thread.:D Or are you proposing the next film meet?

Well Richard I started off with the map of the Chilterns and using the right arrow went to the overall view of England and Wales and was surprised at the results...so it looks like a meet in the future (if interested in scenery) that's convenient travel for many people, would be the green area east of Wales.
