I'll be starting from Yeovil Andy :) Looking on a map, I figured Derby was closest to the chapel, but if there are other easier ones for other people then that's better!

Hopefully I'll be able to drive, but I just wanted to have a plan B saved in the brain, just in case I'm car-less carlos at the time! Derby station is only about 8 miles from the chapel, so if it's a massive detour for other people, or cars are full etc then I can always catch a taxi :)

Hi Carl, If you need plan B I will be going through Derby between 2.30 and 3.00pm on the Friday, if you would like a pick up and deposit to the lodgings then let me know and I can meet you at Derby station.

Rich.

Brilliant, thank you Richard :)

Looks like I'll have a few options for the day if it goes kaput between now and September, thanks all! :D

As I'm slowly sifting through bits and pieces of kit, some of which has very little if any value, I'm wondering if it is possible to have a thread to offer freebies ( and possible small trades eg, swapping of film etc ) without causing complications in the classifieds rulings.

I don't want to lugg a load of bits to find myself returning home with them, hence a request for some way of finding what, if anything is wanted by the other folk going to the Peaks meet.

Maybe we can arrange something?

There again perhaps it's a daft idea!....what d'ya think?

Have you got a Nikon F you don't want?

Hasn't that been mentioned before somewhere? IIRC I was going to give you an old cycle helmet and a baseball cap :D

Its an idea with some merit and it's not often said about Asha's ideas. :D

Worth a bit more discussion I think.

Actually I'm considering letting my F go but it's not a freebie...far from it:D

Yes it was suggested before ...by you! but it proceeded no further so effectively i'm "bumping" the idea.

I appreciate were like 11 weeks or something away from the meet but leaving such as this until a fortnight before aint gunna work real good is it?

So get digging out your unwanted gear Brian .....someone will take it, although the T70 and T90 will never find a new home!:D

Thank you Andy:ty::ty::ty:....someone who clearly sees a good idea when it smacks him in the face:D

Well it would only work if some one wants something specific...in classifieds I put "wanted Canon FD 2Xs extender type b" and didn't get a reply, so if someone has one and wants to swop\sell at the meet (only at the meet to please mods) then I would be happy..

This is your 2 week countdown! We have to pay the balance for the accommodation by 29th July. @Andysnap will be in touch with you all shortly to remind you how to pay.

Total cost for 16 people is £62 pp and you've paid £25 pp deposit so the remaining balance is £37 per person.

FYI - we also have to pay a good housekeeping deposit of £150 with the balance, which will be refunded a week after our stay if the property is left in a clean and tidy condition. We have decided to pay this ourselves rather than split it up front and then have to refund everybody afterwards. Be warned, if we don't get it back in full, we will be sending the boys round to extract your shares! :bat:;)

More than happy to include £9.38 on top of the £37 if you'd prefer :)

You save your pennies young man, one day you might have enough for a nice little place in the country or a fast car or even a holiday abroad. :D

Money sent :)

It's looking good for transportation, I drove to the Brecon Beacons and back at the weekend and the van didn't miss a beat. Well, the engine did cut out randomly for no apparent reason like it did last year, but this time it started again and I didn't need a new cylinder head, so I'd say that's a success!

Can't wait for the meet, going to be cracking good fun I think :D

Can't get to the security stuff just yet, but the money will be with you shortly, Andy.

What time are people going to be arriving on Friday? Just getting round to my trains... Should have done it a few weeks ago by the looks of things!

There seems to be a gap in the trains between Belper and Derby on Sunday afternoon, could I be awkward and ask someone to drop me at Derby on Sunday afternoon? Aiming for the 1438 train.

I've got some information from the booking confirmation they sent me. The property will be available from 3pm on Fri 23rd and should be vacated promptly by 10am on Mon 26th.

Mr Snap & I will aim to collect the keys and arrive at the house around 3pm to open up, so arrivals after then will be fine. Belper is the nearest station and one of us will be happy to pick people up from there.

I think it should take me about four hours to get there, so I'm hopeful to be arriving around 5-6pm. Mind you, Google Maps tells me that on a Friday afternoon it can take up to 6 hours because of traffic, so I might arrive a fair bit later.

Just to add, I'm also able to pick up from train stations that I pass near by. I have two extra seats up front, but if anyone sits in the middle they'll have to put up with me caressing their leg every time I change gear as it's bit cosey :D

You passing through derby? :)

Cheapest fare rtn is £123. Spent an hour trying to fiddle times and splits to get it down, rail network is mess.

I think my train will be around £40 return. I'll be looking to get in to Belper on Friday around 5-6pm and will be leaving on Sunday afternoon as well so might be trying to jump in with the same lift Steveo's arranging ;0)

Yeah that's why I decided to drive in the end, the train from Yeovil is around £91, and I think fuel will cost be £45-50. It would actually be cheaper for you to fly to an airport nearby and get picked up I think!

Looks like I'll be at Belper on the 1805 I can get to derby an hour Earlier and save a tenner but it'll miss the DBY BLP connection by one minute and be on a XC train all the way down.

By extensive messing around and my over familiarty with the rail network I've got the cost down to... wait for it... drum roll.... £79. Assuming some kind soul can get me to DBY for half past two.
