I think I have a very good eye for taking pictures and a passion to go with it. I see potential pictures everywhere and have taken some interesting stuff but I'm so frustrated because I don't have the equipment to match my eye and my passion. I own an Olympus Camedia C 5000 and am not in a position to get the Canon D400 that I want just yet. I think some of my stuff is really good from a creative point of view but technically because of my equipment they are obviously nowhere near the standard I would like. I would like to post some pics and get some advice but I'm embarrassed:(

Dont be embarrassed to post your pictures here. Everyone has to start somewhere and there's lots of great advice and critique here to help you out. Just get posting :p

Dont be shy. There are plenty of threads started here, titled: These pics suck, how can I improve

I have yet to see a reply to these threads that isnt constructive, helpful and supportive.

get posting

Hey if this is any help Ill freely tell you while I think I (now) have a great camera, as well as a creative mind ... technically I suck!
I have such a problem with numbers that its not even close to funny.

Many people struggle in different areas and for different reasons, but the help and support here at TPF is fantastic.
There are all levels of photographers here using all levels of equipment ...so please dont be put off.

Look forward to seeing your pics. :)

The levels of photographs I post are of a poor quality to some of the photographers on here, but the comments on these photo's are positive. If you can handle a little constructive crictism then you're in the right place. And it will improve your photographs

Thanks for the encouragement. I've tried uploading some photos but I can't find them. Do you have to wait a while for them to appear in the gallery? Perhaps I'm not uploading them right:bonk:

Don't be embarressed.
I only started in photography this year and have no eye as yet and I am not that creative so you already have the advantage.
I have learnt loads from these forums and it is slowly starting to make sense. Don't be dissapointed with any responses from posting pics as it all adds to your experience.
It's not the kit its the person behind it, get photographing and posting and i am sure you will enjoy it hugely. Looking forward to seeing your pics

Fellow photogs are here to help and guide not to flame and burn and you will find their help and comments will start to push you beyond what you are capable of producing at the moment. This is one of the friendliest site I've had the pleasure to participate in so just join in and enjoy ;)

Thanks for all the good advice I really appreciate it. I've tried uploading my photos and get the message that they've been successfully uploaded but still can't find them. Clicked Inaglo's link and followed instructions but my photos don't appear in my gallery. :help:

DD do you have an account with PhotoBucket? It's real easy to host a pic from there to here. Just two clicks !

Although Having an expensive DSLR with various lenses will improve the end quality of the pic, the camera will not tell you what to look at through the viewfinder, you do that! so no matter what camera you have, if you have an "eye" for a good picture and compose well it will show!

Have a read through this..

and then post away!

remember the easier and less technical the camera the more time you have for been creative, some of the best shots i have taken have been with my old samsung digimax v4, slips in the pocket, no messing about, i loved it. Now my shooting is a lot more slower paced till i get used to the more technical aspects of a fat camera, and i tend to miss things fathoming out the best settings. I think too many new photographers dont see the wood for the trees. Composition and an eye for detail is up to you not the camera. Have fun.
