Having read this:

I take a MiniTrekker with as much as I can get into it! pair of socks, pair of undies and a T-shirt (just in case the hold baggage goes missing!)..

It is obvious that people put all sorts into their kit bags, I have read a lot about which lenses people should go for etc, but what about the little extras, what other little pieces that make a difference, or you couldn't do without do you have in yours?

As I always take a flash I wouldnt go anywhere without coloured filters for it

That's when travelling abroad! If there's a chance of me getting wet, I do keep a change of clothes in the car though.

While in the UK, I carry a Leatherman Wave on my belt (while out and about) as well as a compass, a map of the area I'm in, a mobile phone (fully charged), a torch (+ spare batteries), a x5 magnifying glass, string, electrical tape, a couple of bulldog type clips and anything else I have room for and think might be handy. I tend to have a compact in a pocket as well, along with a spare battery and an empty memory card for it. There's always a tenner in the camera bag as well, just in case! (Usually a couple of doses of bog roll too...)
