I want to buy an external hard drive to save my photos on any ideas on which to buy and how many photos I can expect to save on it at say a 12 meg resolution

I got this 1TB drive for £70 from Amazon about 3 weeks ago:

So far it has been good. Nice speed, not too loud. V. bright LED for a bedroom though.

Depending what format you are shooting in - but if just jpg then you could probably get close to 250k photos on a 1TB drive.

My £2.99 calculator tells me you'll get approximately eighty three thousand 12mb images on a 1tb drive.
