I got a 1 TB Iomega external drive from Comet a couple of weeks back for £58. When I first started out in IT , 1 TB could only be found in a massive Mainframe computer and would have cost tens of thousands.
My first hard drive in 1994 was a massive 850 MB and I was advised I wouldn't need any more space!!
I just noticed the Maplins are selling the Seagate 1TB external hard drive for £64.99 including delivery, offer ends 10th August. I paid £90.00 for one of these from Maplins about 6 months ago so this seems a reasonable price for anyone in the market for one. Linky

If the Maplins offer is that good I dont know, I am not in the market and havent done any homework, but it seemed reasonable and worth a mention here.
Commodore Vic 20 computer around 1980, there was an option of a memory extension, a sort of plug in cartridge about half the size of a VCR casette.
My first hard drive was 20 meg too. They were known as Winchesters in those days. That 20 meg cost £400.00.
if only it was a portable one
They are always more expensive but amazing capacities now for such small drives. The 1Tb portables tend to be around the £120 mark, you should get 500Gb for £50ish.
I seem to remember the name yes, as I mentioned, it was my sons so he played most of the games. That was my first computer also, it was funny to hear the cassette sounding like a fax machine as the game loaded... Do you remember the game blitz??
Thanks Trev for the Link, Picked up a 1TB from Maplins this afternoon.
