im on tight budget at the moment and next week im going to aberdeen, scotland next week - will be a good experience for me to photography at there.

At the moment i couldn't afford the macro lens like sigma 105mm macro lens, so the kenko extension tubes set kit would be a optional for me.

Will kenko extension tubes set kit work well with my canon lens 18-55mm and 75-300mm non macro?

Thanks

Kenko tubes don't work on EFS lenses without modification - you need to remove some of the edge from the inner ring to allow them to fit. 5 mins with a dremel does the job. Jessops tubes do work with EFS and are about the same price.

thanks, i didnt know that Kenko wont work, ill have a look on Jessop now

thanks again!

Canon currently has two types of lens fitting in production. EF lenses work with all bodies, EFS only work on the cropped sensor bodies (xxxD, xxD). The EFS mount extends slightly further back into the mirror chamber and this is what prevents it fitting the kenko tubes. The tube has an interior plastic ring that gets in the way but it can be trimmed to size with a dremel or even hacked away with a sharp knife to make space for the back of the lens.

im too scared to do 'modification'! ill get a one from Jessops.

hmm... on other hand, if i change my mind and do the modification on kenko extension tubes set kit, all i have do is to remove the 'interior plastic ring' inside the tube.

Heres the pic:

which one is an interior plastic ring?

if i removed it, will it still work for EF as well?

thanks!

None of the numbered ones, it's the inner circle on the black housing top left. Still works with the EF lenses

lol thanks! ill get a one this week, ill let you know how it goes :)

couldnt find any tube on jessops? can you help me with this?

I couldn't see them either - maybe they've stopped making them? They did have them in a sale a while back so maybe that was to clear them out

Hi,

Funnily enough my dad is thinking about getting rid of his Jessops set that I bought for him earlier this year ( I'm sure they were S/H via these forums )

If interested let me know and I will get a price for you.

Mike.
