Can anyone confirm if there are any F1.2 or F1.4 lenses that I can use with a 1.4 extender?

Cheers

I don't think so

"Extenders are only compatible with selected EF lenses, including the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, EF 70-200mm f/4L, EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM, EF 400mm f/4 DO IS USM and fixed length L-series lenses of 135mm or higher."

Typically, the faster primes have the rear element moved backwards as the maximum aperture gets larger....this would foul the front end of the T/C. The 85L is pretty much the limit at the moment and a resigned mount with longer registration distance would be needed to progress any further.

Can an extender fit on a 85L?

Not a chance....the rear element is flush with the electrical contacts, you can even stand the thing on your desk with the body cap on.

Looks like I'm B*ggered.

I'm just trying to find a way around getting 100- 150mm f1.2 - f1.8 without spending fortumes.

Was wondering if by fitting an extender a lens could double up for another use but it looks more hassle than it's worth.

Oh for 6 numbers!

I'll try putting a 12mm tube between the T/C and the lens and see what happens....I'll report back later.

Tried it!
