Export Question for LR4

I’m finding when I develop and then export a .dng image to another folder as a .jpeg, quite often, but not always, the jpeg exposure level is high compared to the original developed .dng.
I find I then have to adjust the exposure level of the jpeg to get it back to the brightness of my original developed .dng.
Am I wrong to think that when I process a .dng file, I should expect it to be the same when exported as a .jpg and should not require further adjustment?
I am running LR4 on an iMac.

Seems so far, disappointingly, no one has anything to offer on my question. Is the way I’ve put the question unclear? Do I have to go to the Adobe forum if I want an answer?

Just tried it and mine's the other way round - .dng is lighter than .jpeg...

Pretty sure the .DNG file is just the raw (.nef, .caf etc) just in a different guise. So in effect the JPEG's that you're exporting have had adjustment made to them from the original raw file
