I got an old role of expired 2006 Velvia 100F 35mm Slide film, Colout reversal with my recent nikonos 5.
Will its work and what should I shoot it at.

It was still boxed but no idea how its been stored.

Shoot it at 250/300 and it'll be fine.

Generally go for a stop a decade.

Sure you don't mean Provia 400? Take off half a stop or so and you'll be fine; alternatively you could pay for a clip test if your lab offers such a service (Peak Imaging does) where they'll clip off and develop the first few frames normally, and adjust the development time accordingly based on the densitometry results of those frames (you can of course do both options as the clip test will likely influence the result either way).

My first roll through the F4 was Velvia 100, also from 2006, I shot it at 100.... it all came out ok.
 
Unlike a post above I find with SLIDE film it does not need so much extra exposure compared with NEGATIVE film -- as what happens is that the fog level rises as usual due to Cosmic Radiation over time and on 'REVERSAL' processing there is a loss in the D-Max so blacks are not quite so 'black' . With NEGATIVE films however I give more exposure roughly in agreement with One Stop Extra Per Decade -- faster films lose sensitivity faster than slower films : some Fujicolor Press 800 I was given dated 2001 I find is now 200 ASA -- I have some 1987 dated Kodak Vericolor III 220 size nominally 160 ASA but it is down to 32 ASA now even with fridge storage.
 
Peter, do you have any alternative "rule of thumb" for outdated slide film? You say "not so much extra exposure" so presumably you're still suggesting some extra?
 
for slide film try just one third stop extra -- for example - for 2006 outdated process -paid Fuji Sensia 200 I shot recently i rated it at 160 ASA instead of 200 and the contrasty 'Velvia 50' I rate at 40 ASA.
