I was looking at the EXIF info on one of my images that i put up on flickr and notices that the name next to:
Artist
By-line
Owner Name
Creator is Richard Ward! Who the hell is he??

The image was imported into Lightroom 3.3 and finished in Elements 9.

Actually i have just thought, Richard Ward may be the previous owner of the 40D that was used. Could this be right or do i need to change the copyright info in Lightroom?

Thanks

If it was brought from that dude then you'll need to change it in the camera -also do it in camera as if it gets nicked whilst out then you could prove it was yours by that info stored in the camera (if you manage to catch them )...

edit : Not sure on how to on a Canon thou - just look thru the menu's or even the manual

I beleive in the Canon utilities it has the option of changing who the owner is. And yes more than likely Richard Ward was the prev' owner :)

That's the DS answer.

You'll need to connect your camera to your PC and alter the owners name using the EOS Utility.

So does it need to be done in the Utility software while the camera is connected to the PC or can it all be done in camera?

Thanks

 i was too late to see this reply! Must type faster!!!:D

Thanks all :)

Spooky - I bought a second hand camera which also had Richard Ward as the owner!

I installed the EOS utilities and changed to my name, I noticed that depending on the camera model and firmware you could only put certain characters in.

Did you buy it off a big guy from South London?

You can also add copyright info in Lightroom and Photoshop (maybe the CS versions) but that will be for the file only and not the camera.

He he, I can't remember to be honest. Could be the same guy i guess. I don't have the camera any more so it's no problem. I'll just make sure i change this one.

More like 5 minutes in LR3 to adjust your whole back catalogue:

Select 'All Photographs' in grid view.

Filter by metadata->Camera->Select relevant body

Ctrl + A

Click on the Metadata tab on the right and select IPTC/Exif from the drop down menu.

Scroll down until you find the name Richard Ward and change it for your own.

Hit 'Enter' and when it asks if you want to apply this to all selected images, click Yes.

give it a couple of minutes to sync:

Copyright Info Correction, DONE.

Just took me 2 minutes in EOS Utility to change mine, forgot to do it when I got it. Thanks for the reminder, I've done my 1d3 as well :D
