Hi again folks,
I've downloaded firefox and opanda on to the imac but for some reason I cant access the exif data on any images. Anyone any ideas? Or does anyone have other recommendations for exif readers for mac?

You don't need to download anything. Mac's operating system can read it.

Simply find the picture you want the EXIF from, right click (or Ctrl click if you only have Mac mouse), click Get Info and then click the arrow next to More Info to expand it. It's all there.

There is no "get info" option in my drop down menu when viewing an image online in either Firefox or safari. Tried right clicking, ctrl clicking etc. but it isn't there???

Why would you want to be viewing exif info on other peoples images online for?

So I can perhaps learn something from their experience, or maybe help when advice is asked for (not that I consider myself in any way experienced or knowledgeable enough to help much as yet)

I spose it depends on the photo. Prob better with studio stuff with fixed lighting conditions. But I dont think its going to make any difference with landscape work. As it all depends on the light and if your using filters etc... Then PP work etc....
But If you happy doing that. I believe the best way to learn is to learn from your own mistakes thats how I learned and I wouldn't of done it any other way.

But Macs rule

Know where you're coming from Dominic5749, I do expect to learn more from my own mistakes but having a look at others exif can't do any harm either if it makes me think about the thinking behind a shot taken by someone else.

Agree with on the mac too and I only had it 24hrs

What about focal length ? I find it very usefull to look the EXIF information to determine what lens I need for specific locations & subjects. Plus - I'm very nosey

Hi redcloud

auzdafluff's right, but forgot to mention that you will have to drag the pic onto your desktop first - then should work.

I use Reveal - just drag pic onto icon and all is revealed. Think it was a free download ,,, check web.

I think you can learn a lot from info on other's pix - then go out and arse up your shots and learn some more

Thanks Rockshifter, works a treat :D
