exif and lens info

I know Exif data gives the focal length and F stop, but not the make of lens used, pity!!!

Any thoughts?

true enough, but I'm sure I've seen exifs on flickr that tell you the pic was taken with a 100-400mm at 250mm (or whatever) - its not consistent though and, presumably depends on the camera

can't find any now I've been looking - on second thoughts, maybe its the opanda exif prog that does it soemtimes

I think it may depend on what software is reading the data, as Canon EXIF records what lens is used. Certainly if your using ZoommBrowser EX or DPP and look in properties it will give the lens info.

It also depends on the lens, not all of them will report the model number (but most do), others go bit further and will also report the distance the focus was set at when the shot was taken
